Caves & Cliffs: Part II is currently being developed by Mojang as the next major Minecraft upgrade . You can now test the new world generation version.
It's a major change to the way the world is created in Minecraft so Mojang decided to do things a little differently this time. The Snapshot Snapshot isn't available in the launcher, unlike normal testing. Instead, you can go to their blog to read instructions and the link to download the Snapshot.
Although it's all subject changes, here's what's different:
New world heights and depths - New mountain biomes (lofty peak and snowcapped peaks as well as grove, meadow and snowy slopes). - New cave generation (cheese and spaghetti caves) and local levels of water. Cave biomes are formed naturally underground and within mountains (lush Caves and dripstone caves). Natural variation of terrain shape and elevation, which is independent of biomes. Minecraft Servers For example, deserts and forests could be created on hills without the need for a special biome.
