Are there ANY vanilla private servers hosted in North-America?
As far as I can tell, hosting one here in NA isn't really possible. They could host them in locations that tell Blizzard to pound sand when they send a takedown request in specific countries of Europe and Asia. In the United States, they're almost guaranteed to be taken down.
I recall a certain tbc server that was a source of attention, but it was quickly taken down by the developers who had the genius idea of hosting it in the US. Hamsterwheel may have a video about this.
Living in Oceanic is a great choice. The same applies to terrible Ping.

NA server = Insta strike down. I get around 100 on vanilla+, however, I'm in the midwest.
It's still insane, but it is possible to see that the signal travels across half the globe in just 100ms.
Legitimate question, are they able to host them in Mexico?
Wow private servers are for europeans. If you're not sure, you'll be privilleged american

It is important to note that, in addition to the host-hosting laws that are grey in NA, most private servers players are also European. This makes it more rational for them to be hosted here.
Americans are huge consumers. Who would have thought of that? xD
I'm not sure if the Chromie is Europe, but I don't travel more than 100m (near Toronto).
EDIT: Also I know Chromie isn't an "pure" vanilla experience, but whatever, I enjoy it.

There are many, but those who advertise themselves as such tend not to stay up very long.
You can host in Canada but not in the USA. If there is advertising, you will be taken off. I've seen guilds run an exclusive test realm in the United States however, it was not open to the public.
