Millions of Xbox Live Gamers Left Without Connectivity After a Xbox Live Crash

Microsoft's online gaming service Xbox Live has suffered a major crash that left players inaccessible.

Many gamers have reported issues when trying to sign up for the service that lets them play multiplayer online and to download and purchase games.

The company said it was working on a solution for the issue - but could not confirm when it would be back.

Thousands of gamers reported problems while trying to log into the service that allows them to play multiplayer online and to download and purchase games.

Our engineers and developers are actively working to find a solution to the issue that causes some users to experience issues accessing Xbox Live,' it stated.

"Keep on top of things and we thank you for your patience."

It comes just days after Microsoft launched an attack on YouTube and Amazon's Twitch by buying its own livestreaming service.

The issue was discovered by the company in a series of tweets. However the company said it is still 'investigating' the matter.

The Xbox maker announced its plans to purchase live-streaming service Beam which is a Seattle-based business created by 18-year-old Matt Salsamendi.

The teen who launched his company in January says it has already had 100,000 users.

It lets users influence and interact with the video game that is streamed unlike other streaming platforms.

Beam lets players suggest challenges to streamers and even alter game elements such as the weapon loadout or the quest selection.

Today the Xbox maker announced plans to purchase live streaming service Beam founded in Seattle, a company founded by Matt Salsamendi (18 years old).

It also lets developers create special button layouts that allow viewers to interact with games streamed by Beam.

"We at Xbox are thrilled by this convergence of watching and playing, and want gamers to enjoy the freedom and choice of amazing multiplayer experiences across all Beam's platforms." Chad Gibson, a program manager of partner groups at Microsoft's Xbox Live division, said in a statement.

The acquisition will let gamers play the games they want with the people they want, and on the devices they want.'

The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

He revealed how the system might be integrated with Minecraft.

'Using 'Minecraft' as one example, with Beam you don't only watch your favorite streamer play, but you also play with them.

'You can give them new challenges and make in-real-time decisions that impact their gameplay, from selecting tools to quests, to movement all with simple visual controls.'

Salsamendi says Beam will continue to operate even as he and his team join the Xbox engineering group.

In an article on the Beam website, Salsamendi says the service has grown to about 100,000 users since it was launched in January of this year.

He writes, "As part Xbox, we will be able to grow faster than we have ever before."

"We're expanding our team, building our infrastructure, and the most important thing is to continue to expand and help the amazing community of Beam.'

THE XBOX ONE

The Xbox One S will be available in a color called 'robotwhite'.

It will come with an internal power supply unlike previous Xbox models with external power packs.

Despite this however, the Xbox One S will also be 40% smaller than the previous model.

Microsoft claimed that the console will be able to play 4K Ultra HD video, and will come with up to 2TB of internal storage.

The new model will also include a wireless controller with extended range and High Dynamic Range (HDR).

Microsoft's Xbox design lab allows owners to personalize their controller.
