Pada saat yang sama, Sora memperoleh Keyblade. pulau ini dianggap angker, dan Sora yang tersisa terpaut. Sementara itu, Raja Mickey telah meninggalkan dunianya untuk mengatasi kegelapan meningkat dan instruksi kiri untuk penyihir Donald dan ksatria Goofy untuk menemukan "kunci" yang akan menyelamatkan Raja dan semesta alam. Sora bertemu Donald dan Goofy dan tiga memutuskan untuk bepergian bersama-sama, Donald dan Goofy mencari Mickey, dan Sora untuk menemukan Kairi dan Riku.
