I have access to king-sized beds with high thread-count cotton or linen, from where I can wake up to the stunning sea view framed in wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows. I can entertain myself and guests in a separate circular cottage with a sumptuous dining room, a well-appointed kitchenette and spacious seating with its own attached powder room. In my book, that’s the best part of this resort, and what sets it apart from others of its ilk.

The resort is an ideal base to discover Princess Lagoon and Phra Nang Cave, as well as everything the local area has to offer. The Rayavadee Spa is reason alone to spend time in this heavenly Thai resort. Therapeutic Thai herbal ingredients, masterful masseurs, a vast array of treatments, and soothing ambience – I don’t feel too short-changed about cutting short our walk. An hour of pampering later and I’m feeling a little spaced out for my next appointment – one that’s continuing in this less-strenuous vein.
