It is a great value, thanks to its low proof and sweet taste, and is the perfect choice for mixing with ice, mixing with mixers, or even enjoying neat. But if you want to step up a notch, I suggest you try the rare Weller Antique 107. This bourbon has a higher MSRP and is harder to find.
Weller Antique

Old Weller Antique 107 is one of Buffalo Trace's most popular wheated bourbons. Its lineup also includes Weller Special Reserve, Full Proof, Single Barrel, and Kosher editions. Since the launch of the 107 in 2019, the Weller lineup has been growing rapidly. Bottles of Old Weller sell for $500 to $600, with some bottles going for over eighty dollars.

Azul tequila The nose has a dark, caramel, cocoa, and wheat aroma. There is a faint hint of fudge or peanut brittle in the background. There are also hints of pepper and spice. There are traces of oak and wood, and the overall flavor is slightly sweeter than the Pappy and Weller 12 whiskies. Despite the higher price tag, Old Weller Antique is a solid buy under $40.
Pappy Van Winkle

The Pappy Van Winkle distillery has been around since 1850. It has a 99 point rating from the Beverage Tasting Institute, which sparked the interest of whiskey connoisseurs. The whiskey used to be made in small batches, but Pappy was so good that there were barrels of ancient bourbon lying around. Today, bottles of Pappy can sell for more than $5,000!

The oldest whiskey in the Pappy Van Winkle family is the Pappy Van Winekrell Family Reserves, which is just over barrel proof. Compared to the younger whiskey, it is slightly woody and tannic, with little fruit or floral sweetness. It's not smooth either, despite its good taste. However, if you're a fan of whiskey and like a little bit of wood and spice, you might want to try this version.
