The key to winning poker hands is position. If a player plays well in an early position, it means that he or she has a strong hand. Hence, the opposite player needs to re-evaluate his or her strategy. Also, one must learn from every bet round. You need to quickly make a mental note of the opponent's play based on their behavior.

Learn the art and science of betting. When you bet you should always do so in a defensive style; another good thing about knowing the proper time to make a bet is that it gives you an idea of your opponent's hand.
