While fireflies and torches were the first types of artificial lighting, there have been plenty of other sources of light over the eons. Modern light sources rely on two metrics to measure their color properties. Correlated color temperature (CCT) indicates the warmth of light emitted and the color rendering index (CRI) measures the ability of a light source to make an object look more natural. These metrics have been developed over the past century to account for new technologies, such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and light-emitting diodes (LXTs). Before, measurements of light were done using a dosimeter.
Choosing bespoke lighting of light for your photography depends on the type of subject and the features you want to emphasize. Hard light emphasizes angles and non-flat surfaces, while soft light smooths out details. stairwell lighting , on the other hand, highlights features that are not flat.
