The Board of Directors of FC Basel Holding AG met on Monday morning. Burgener, Degen, Karl Odermatt and Peter von Buren all approved the plans of the previous owner. According to a report from the holding company the owner demanded Degen if he would sell his stake to Basel Dream & Vision AG.
Bernhard Burgener Bernhard Burgener In doing so, the Board of Directors relies on the terms of a contract that allows Burgener to sell its own shares to those of the minority shareholders in the same conditions. This drag-along method is considered superior to Degen's presale right.
Bernhard Burgener Burgener, along with his group, have reacted in this dispute over owners. Degen is insisting on his first refusal. He would like to use this right for 16.4 million Francs. Burgener is not able to sell his 80 per cent stake to Basel Dream & Vision AG due to a superprovisional order. Centricus, the British asset manager, would also be a shareholder in the company. Burgener would continue to receive majority vote.
As per FC Basel Holding AG Announcement, Burgener und Degen are looking to settle an out-of-court settlement "in the interest of FCB". Bernhard Burgener
