How to stay occupied while working as an underground security guard for long hours

Times are difficult. The gig economy has made it harder for me to maneuver in this new situation. I used to do very well prior to the pandemic, and now besides my main job as a dental assistant I had to pick up a night-time security position at a local machine manufacturing plant near my home. The machine is mostly automated. Workers are available during the day and I am a part of the night crew. I have an emergency number to call in case of an accident or when machinery stops working. I call engineers and/or outside line for additional engineers. I'm not doing anything. It's because they're not generating any value at all. So night guard is really an ordinary switchboard attendant.
However I enjoy it. It's peaceful. While I'm a sleepy person, I find it quite spooky. It's quite dull at night, so I keep trying to speed it up. I've spent the past two weeks perfecting a dance I watched on Tik Tok. It's not difficult, but it's a challenge for me to recreate it. The dance was created by a young girl from Tik Tok. I don't know what to call that stuff. I'm too old.

Recently, I've tried different car repair videos. While I'm not sure how to apply them to my car right away I like watching other people have their cars appear to be invincible. DIY videos are as instructive and simple. And so I started running into another problem. Internet wouldn't work on my phone in the end. I couldn't connect to any video or other useful activity since, as we know, the internet is necessary to everything. I learned how to download Youtube videos to my phone. And, when the internet was down for hours, I could quickly watch DIY videos on my phone. It doesn't matter if you stream it from a particular site or another online. It's also possible to download it at home, and then watch it on your phone even if you don't have internet or other online access. It's as simple as DVR for your online videos and not only TV shows.
My pure delight in downloading new episodes and movies directly to my laptop, is proof of the power of television. My laptop is more comfortable than my desktop and comes with better speakers. I joined HULU as well as Netflix. I am now able to download their app and enjoy movies rather than streaming them. The duration of the show as well as the quality settings determine the speed at which the video will download to my device. It will then be available at all times and without internet connection. It's only fifteen minutes, but it allows me to catch up with the most recent episode that I missed on the train ride to work.

There are many interesting or educational materials I can find at home and bring to work. This makes my workday much more efficient. YouTube's self-improvement webinars are an excellent resource. However it's not easy to watch a 1-hour video and follow what they are saying. That's what I'm talking about. You'll see what I mean.
My son is sometimes in my office with me for work. There are days when my wife is working night shifts, and it is difficult for us to remain at home with our son. I bring him along and put him in front of the computer's screen to check my stuff. In a matter of minutes, he's asleep. If he awakes I give him my laptop as well as some of the music videos that I just downloaded. He's content and I'm also happy to do my thing using my mobile. This is how we can all work together better by doing our thing. He does seem to enjoy having me around. Perhaps he's tired of sleeping all the night.
