It is crucial to prepare for travel with children. There isn't free WiFi up there.

Yes, I was there.. My kids have a hard time with this. They think that the wifi on the mountain top is weak. While it's tiny, the hill is not within normal range of cell networks. My children have to walk around looking for better internet connections while my wife and I set up tiny camping sites. We are planning to stay for a couple of days and there's a small stream close by, and fresh water that we have our own. Yes.. My wife also cannot camp without enough water. Therefore, we always carry our own.
As my children keep updating their social media profiles I'm taking in the view. The hill isn't too large, but it's surrounded with much larger ones. It is a hill we visit once in a while to be closer to earth. These trips are among my favorites and I'm also the only one who enjoys them. It's my wife that insists of taking me out, partly because she know how much I love being in the wild. My children are quite different. Internet sometimes goes down. Your streaming music may be interrupted by something in the cloud or other magnetic movements for up to a minute before it restores. It's really irritating for me, as I usually end up hearing the entire thing..
So, after a number of excursions that were not connected to the internet and where our normal internet would drop between a few and a couple of hours we determined to be prepared. We, that is my wife and I have decided to prepare for the possibility that our kids will not have internet for more then 10 minutes. We came up with two entertainment options that could be used when Internet isn't accessible on camping trips. The tablet was loaded with music videos and some of the most popular songs on it. Our preferred Youtube MP3 tool was able to help us extract music and convert them to MP3 files before downloading to the tablet. It can work with playlists too, so it was a quick process even though it's quite lengthy. You can now play music, or videos if you feel bored. It's a great idea, doesn't it? That item makes no noise.
The second tablet was mostly television shows and cartoons that we downloaded from Hulu or Netflix. The quality may not be great however it's a lot of fun. There are numerous seasons of Breaking Bad there and many cartoons like Family Guy and Disenchantment. The shows are very enjoyable. The process was very simple. Install the app, activate downloads for offline watching download episodes, then mark them as downloaded. Tablet 2 was a few trips away from tablet one, however my children loved it so much they began using it and watching the shows. A few DIY videos were added by me, like setting up a tent and the skinning of fresh-caught fish. Things that you wouldn't normally do in the city. A few of the videos I downloaded off Youtube then converted them into MP4 files and then downloaded to my tablet. It's much more convenient to have video on your tablet at all times.

These two tips keep my children entertained for four of our camping excursions. They're also happy to go out, since they know that tablets 2 can make their dull leisure time more enjoyable. And they are able to bring it home anytime they'd like. I've never felt more fulfilled. I love being with my family.
