i recently found out about something called alexithymia

i wanna write a story about someone who has it tbh but i should probably research more

Sure
so a girl named amily was sent to the US from vietnam when she was around 7 and she doesnt remember why she came or who her family was
she's also alexithymic and gets adopted into a family
i might make the family black or hispanic but i need to be careful not to stereotype
and she eventually gets to know a guy who's generally apathetic and doesn't care about life
she can't feel much so she won't be sad about the friendship so she doesn't mind being friends with him
and then as he finally begins opening up to her
covid happens and they have to resort to elearning
it's set last year btw

i don't think i'm going to have them end up together since it's pretty cliche
my friend suggested making it angsty
so that he has abusive parents and dies near the end
idk if i'm for making it such a tragedy though
That or make one of his parents almost die
yeah
i haven't fleshed out his backstory much yet
do you think the plotline is ok?
