New Music Sources
The discovery of inexpensive, accessible and easy to use creative commons licensed music sources for music creation is something that has forever changed the way we do music. No longer does a multi-million dollar recording company have to spend hundreds of thousands (or millions) of dollars in advance of actually getting their music recorded. Now people can get their demos, their rough cuts and all of the great unreleased music they could never get approved for regular radio stations or even television. These un-gettable sound tracks are available for personal use at ridiculously low, affordable royalty-free prices - often as much as 99% less than what would be charged from an exclusive record label or artist.

The discovery of these affordable music sources has meant huge savings for musicians and music service businesses alike. With less overhead and no need for live, one-on-one time with a music service manager or music producer, smaller, boutique music services such as local recording studios and live music venues can operate at more levels of efficiency and lower costs. They can also take their music services to more locations and on more stages, which allow them to reach more people and get them to experience their music in a more familiar, more dynamic way. Many smaller venues and local recording studios have been able to successfully grow their music libraries to include more rap, folk, gospel, jazz and other music genres, with some even experiencing growth in music sales and popularity. The same is true of radio stations - small, independent radio stations that were once considered the preserve of middle class white Americans now routinely draw listeners from all over the world.

Another reason that the availability of affordable music sources has been so wildly beneficial is that they have allowed music services to grow and expand, with very little financial loss. Major labels and artist representatives used to be the only ones who could gain access to music sources. With smaller labels and artist representatives now able to negotiate licensing agreements and licensing deals with web hosts and hosting providers, indie bands and professional musicians can simply upload their audio files to popular websites and allow their audiences to download them for a low monthly fee. This has expanded the range of music services and allowed many individuals to create an even larger audience. This means that the Internet has created a new type of "super-network", which is beginning to change the landscape of radio stations all over the world.

The next major development to the music sources available on the Internet came about when the technology giant Google came into the picture. The popular search engine company realized that it had a huge amount of potential to provide its users with music sources. Google made available its own proprietary music playlists, which users could easily purchase and download from their web pages. These playlists were then syndicated by independent music promotion companies that allowed the public to download them for a low monthly fee. This not only gave internet users another great source for music sources, but it also made radio stations that used the playlists much more competitive because they now had to compete with a much larger company for every song in their playlists.

One industry which benefited greatly from this new music service was the mobile device market. Mobile devices like the iPhone and the Android were able to tap into a powerful source of music sources thanks to Google's innovative technology. Because these mobile devices run on Google's Android operating system, they were very easily able to interface with the Google playlist download applications. Now, any mobile device that has a screen that can be opened up to a web browser can be used as a music service center. Any time a user wants to listen to one of these mobile apps, they no longer have to use a personal computer or laptop to do so because their mobile device has all the resources they need to access these excellent music sources. Users no longer have to spend an hour or two at a music service center just to download their favorite music for their mobile device.

However, the benefits don't just stop there. Streaming services like Pandora also made the whole house audio system much easier to operate. Pandora allows users to set up playlists and then requests playlists from a large pool of music sources. The user then chooses which sources to play and which sources to skip based on how many minutes they want to skip.

Another great addition to the whole-house audio system is the addition of digital signage in malls and retail shops which features streaming services like Pandora and iTunes. These signage pieces feature not only links to the various streaming websites, but also allow the audience to play songs on their mobile devices through these websites. This feature will allow consumers to tap into their personal music library and easily locate their favorite artists or songs.

So while Audio Scaleurs may be losing listeners, the Internet has proven to be a strong ally and has become a useful new music source. In fact, this new development may prove to be the start of many new music downloads going viral across the Internet. As more people start using these services, more artists and musicians will be encouraged to create music streams for free and begin earning their share of revenue through music downloads. It's a great time to be an independent artist and you should take advantage of it!
