Bayrock Group opened Trump SoHo together with the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization in 2008. Bayrock Group was founded in Kazakhstan in the year 1980.

Bayrock Group is a luxury development company that is specialized in luxury real estate. The success of Bayrock Group in the United States goes back long prior to its establishment in 2001. At first, the story starts in a different part of the world.


Tevfik Ariff, a Turk-born Immigrant from Soviet Kazakhstan, founded Bayrock Group.

Prior to becoming a member of the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade, Tevfik Ariff earned an education from the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute in International Relations.

He stayed within the ministry for 17 years, and left to create a number of his own businesses. Tevfik Arif owned several firms which were involved in high-end real estate development, food exports, and imports.

Due to his numerous businesses, Tevfik Arif acquired a large number of partners across the world. His network led him to Turkey in 1993, where he was one of the most prominent leaders behind Turkey's famous all-inclusive hotels.

For instance, he launched the Labada Hotel Antalya, before going on to his next venture across the Atlantic some time later.

Bayrock Group becomes increasingly ambitious

Tevfik Arif moved to the United States in 2001 to discover new avenues of business and also to be closer to his American part of his family.

Bayrock Group, a luxury development firm for real estate in New York City, was created by him shortly following he moved.

Bayrock Group started out with small-to-medium-sized jobs located in New York. For instance, the company renovated Loehmann's Seaport Plaza shopping center in Brooklyn's Sheepshead.

Bayrock Bayrock Group was off on a strong beginning. Tevfik was more determined. He was eager for larger projects and decided that he would alter the strategy of the company to concentrate more on these projects.

Bayrock Group, New York City's office relocated to Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue as part of its latest strategy.

The move resulted in a lot more than just a change in site because it put the business near to the Trump Organization. Tevfik Arif Bayrock The world-renowned family organization namely was housed in the same structure.

Trump SoHo is now in good shape

Bayrock Group & Trump Organization shared a vision of luxury real property projects. Therefore, they have decided to join forces.

Bayrock Group was already working with the Sapir Organization on another undertaking in Manhattan's SoHo Quarter, which is located on Spring Street.

Tevfik arif recognized that the Trump Organization would bring brand recognition to the building. This was something Bayrock Group, and the Sapir Organization had lacked.

Arif drafted an agreement granting the Trump Organization 18% equity in the building in exchange for use of the Trump brand under its name.

The deal was endorsed by the Bayrock Group, Trump Organization and Sapir Organization.

Bayrock This was the start of the construction project Trump SoHo's in 2006.

After two years of work, the building was ready and awaiting its official opening.

Trump SoHo was designed by veterans

Hotel guests could enjoy breathtaking perspectives of New York City through the building's floor-to-ceiling windows.

Handel Architects was tasked by the design of the building. The architecture firm was responsible for designing the National September 11th Memorial & Museum in New York City as well as the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Washington, D.C.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock Group hired Rockwell Group, to handle interior design.

Rockwell Group is responsible for creating, among other things among other things, the Climate Pledge Arena (Seattle), the Seven Deadly Sins Playhouse located in New York, as well as the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas.

The firm has also worked dealing with countries around the world, such as Mexico, Spain, and Indonesia.

Bayrock Group and Trump Organization strengthen their collaboration

The Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization wanted to grow their relationship following the opening of Trump SoHo.

Their dream was to construct buildings similar to Trump SoHo in Florida and Arizona. The same licensing rules were applied, leaving the Trump Organization with 18% equity. This could open the way to Trump being included in the construction’s name.

Despite the plans and ambitions of the firms they could not be constructed because of the 2008 global economic crisis.

The American real estate market was particularly affected by the recession and Bayrock Group and Trump Organization had to pull their plans.

Tevfik arif quit his United States enterprises after the financial crisis. He decided to move to Europe and Central Asia.

He was employed in the private sector while the time he was working.

Tevfik Arif has quit the majority of his daily responsibilities at Bayrock Group today. But, he remains a trusted consultant to the business.
