How can you avoid boredom during long hours as a security officer at an underground facility

The times are hard. I find it difficult to navigate the new market of gig economy just as much as I did in the past. Prior to the outbreak I was doing extremely well. I was also employed as an assistant to the dentist. I now have to fill a night-time security role at an adjacent machine production plant. The machine is mostly automated. The workers are on call all day long and I am only part of the night team. If there's a problem, or the machine isn't working as it should I have my emergency number. Then , I contact engineers or dial outside to get more engineers. I do nothing. It's true that they're not producing anything valuable here, so night time guards are really just an attendant on a switchboard..

It's quiet and peaceful, which I find quite relaxing. It's quiet. I'm a very spooky slumberer. I often wake up from too much gas release during the night. However, here I'm thriving. The evenings can be boring, so I experiment with new ideas to make them pass more quickly. For instance, in the last two weeks, I've been working on an Tik Tok dance. It's not difficult but it's a challenge to replicate the dance. This dance was taught by a young Tik Tok sister, so it's hard. I don't know what to say about it because I'm old..


Recently, I've tried different car repair videos. Although I'm not sure what to do to apply these methods to my car immediately I do enjoy watching others fixing their vehicles. DIY videos are as instructive and easy. So I began to run into another issue. Then or later, internet was not functioning on my phone, which meant I could not watch any videos or perform any other useful activity in any way, since as we've seen, nowadays there is no internet connection, even those fast and simple "do it yourself" videos.... And so I found a wonderful solution - preparation.. I discovered how to download Youtube videos to my phone. Now, even though internet speeds are slow I can stream DIY videos on my smartphone. No matter how you go about it, it doesn’t matter whether you stream the video from an online site, or another website or download it from home. Then you can play it on your phone when there’s no internet access or wifi. It's easy to set up DVR for your online video and not only TV shows.

To my absolute joy I was able download new episodes and movies to my laptop. Since my laptop has larger screens and more powerful speakers, I've been bringing it into work. I signed up with HULU and Netflix. They permit both to download their apps. After a few minutes dependent on the duration of the show, its quality options, and other variables the content will be downloaded to the device. This will make it accessible anytime, anyplace even without internet. Even though the television is only 15 minutes long it gives me enough time to catch up with the previous night's episodes.

There are other kinds of educational or simply interesting material I can find at home and take with me to work to help make time fly by quicker. Youtube's webinars are wonderful. However, it's hard to focus on the content when you're interrupted several times. What am I speaking of... In such situations I once time try to get ready at home, download YouTube video as an mp4 file on my laptop and then watch it any time at work. There are no restrictions on wifi, not even wifi is required, the file is recorded on my laptop and nothing is ruined even if the internet isn't perfect as it's not a requirement for me in this situation.

Sometimes, I take my son to work with me. This is because my wife does her night shift, making it hard for us to stay home with the child. I accompany him and set him up on the computer's screen to check my stuff. Within hours, he's asleep. I give him my laptop that contains a few music videos that I downloaded, and he watches the crazy young performers on the screen. I am content to keep doing my thing on the phone, but when he awakes, he's awake. Being our own person is how we work better together. He does seem to enjoy being with me.
