Israel group's fight for claims [Shurat Hadin]

A group of Israeli lawyers is urging Australian survivors and their families to sign up for the class action program for insurance firms that Holocaust historical antecedents did not fulfill their obligation to pay out for policies held by displaced European Jews.

Darshan Leitner indicated that US Senate estimates have revealed that $US200B in payments were withheld by Jewish policyholders who had delinquent WWII insurance firms. This includes a lot of traceable successors in today's market who have inherited these liability.


Shurat HaDin uses its financial expertise to pursue banks harboring terrorist assets.

Shurat Haidin is also launching legal proceedings against Israel in order to obtain a list of 140,000 Holocaust survivors/descended - who have declared around two million assets as part of Israel’s Project Heart. The Israeli government and the Jewish Agency for Israel jointly invited applicants into the restitution program. But the program was abruptly shut down which left the those who participated in the program in the limbo.

Darshan Leitner explained, however, that Project Heart participants might be eligible to participate in class actions within Project Last Chance if their identities can be disclosed to Shurat HaiDin.
