Israel group's struggle against claims [Shurat hadin]

A group of Israeli-based lawyers is calling on Australian survivors and their families to sign up for the class action program for insurance firms that Holocaust era antecedents failed in their obligation to pay out on policies that were held by displaced European Jews.

Nitsana darshan-Leitner is an Israeli human rights advocate and Israeli attorney. She was the founder of Shurat HaDin Israel Law Centre. Israel Law Center has announced its initiative, Project Last Chance will investigate insurance companies that took advantage of the chaos and Shoah to dodge paying claims for survivors, victims, or their descendants.

"My task is to make sure that the victims receive money to pay for the final. It's money owed to survivors, it's their money. Israel Law Center 's your money when you ensure your possessions. Your home or your life. No nitsana darshan leitner can take it.

https://rosalind.info/users/nitsana.darshan.leitnerjbbz689 said the US Senate estimations have proven that $US200B in payments were withheld by Jewish policy holders who were delinquent with WWII insurance firms. This includes a lot of traceable successors in today's market who have been inherited by these companies.

Shurat HaDin leverages its expertise in the hunt for financial institutions, including banks that hold assets terrorist organizations.

"We've initiated legal proceedings against the banks and nations that aid or abette the spread of terrorism. We're experts and aren't afraid to take on the big corporations, large countries or large international banks" she said.

Shurat HaDin is a Shurat HaDin affiliate, is launching legal processes in Israel to unlock a database containing approximately 140,000 Holocaust survivors' and descendants. They have listed more than two million assets in Israel's Project Heart. In coordination with the Jewish Agency for Israel the Israeli government invited potential applicants to join the restitution program. But, the program was abruptly ended which left the applicants in an uncertain situation.

Shurat Haidin has approached the government, but hasn't received a reply. The Labour and Social Services Ministry in Israel declared that Project Heart was not intended to be a personal claims scheme. Thus, information about claimants' identities can't be released. A theory suggests Israel underestimated European governments' inflexibility concerning lists of hundreds, thousands of claimants.

But if their identities are made public to Shurat HaDin, the Project Heart participants could become applicants in class actions launched under Project Last Chance, Darshan-Leitner explained.

Project Last Chance will be adopting a different strategy from the Claims Conference in 1951. The conference has petitioned nations to support Holocaust repartition, however it is it has not specifically targeted firms and companies.
