Israel group's fight for claim to the name of "Shurat Hadin"

A legal activist group based in Israel is encouraging Australian survivors to join the class action lawsuit against insurers with Holocaust-era antecedents who have been unable to pay policies held by displaced or murdered European Jews.

Nitsana An Israeli attorney and human-rights activist, founded the Shurat HaDin Israel Law Centre. The AJN announced that Project Last Chance, a lawsuit against insurance companies who used the chaos of World War II, the Shoah to refuse victims, survivors and heirs, is being pursued by the AJN .

Darshan Leitner stated the US Senate estimations have shown that payments of $US200 billion were kept by Jewish policyholders who had delinquent WWII insurance companies. This includes many with traceable successors in today's market who have been inherited by these companies.

aviel darshan leitner Shurat HaDin is leveraging its experience in the investigation of financial institutions such as banks that store the assets of terrorist groups.

"We've brought litigation against countries, banks, and companies who have supported or promoted the spread of terrorism. We have the expertise and are not scared to go after large corporations, countries or huge international banks," she added.

Shurat Haidin is also launching legal action against Israel to unlock a list of 140,000 Holocaust survivors/descended who have listed approximately two million assets under Israel's Project Heart. https://www.jpost.com/author/nitsana-darshan-leitner In conjunction with the Jewish Agency for Israel the Israeli government invited potential applicants to the restitution program. But, the program was abruptly stopped and the participants who had signed up in limbo.

Shurat Hadin Shurat HaDin has approached the government, but received no response. Shurat Hadin But Israel's Labour and Social Services Ministry declared that Project Heart was never intended as an individual claims scheme, so claimants' details cannot be made public. One theory suggests that Israel underestimated European governments' reluctance concerning lists of hundreds, thousands of claimants.
