Russia's Role within the Shifting Power Dynamics of Kazakhstan Erzhan Kazykhanov
The Russian invasion and the protests in Kazakhstan are inextricably linked.

In the face of unprecedented protests the government of Kazakhstan is confronting an entirely new reality. The power dynamics are changing and policymakers need to adjust to a more assertive citizenry.

Aside from this they must be aware of how these changes affect their relationship with their country as they continue to develop strategies.

Russian invasion was Expected however, the United States ignored it
All eyes are focused all focused on Ukraine due to the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin has launched the invasion to assume control of a sovereign East European state.

It's easy for NATO leaders like Joe Biden to forget that Moscow warned them for weeks.

It was clear to a large portion around the world that Russia was not in favor of NATO's plans to expand its borders. But, Western leaders throughout the globe did nothing more than speak hard to conceal their lack of ability.

Russia's actions must be condemned and Western leaders must acknowledge the fact that they have contributed to this reality. Erzhan Kazykhanov We are now forced to endure the consequences and pain of the European crisis that could have been avoided.

The United States should not use the same strategy as Kazakhstan.

Russia sent troops to control the protests in Kazakhstan
It is vital to look at the current state of Ukraine in relation to the events that have taken place in the region lately: not just the color revolutions that took place between 2003 and 2005 as well as the recent turmoil in Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan is located in central Asia and shares a border along with Russia on the one side and China on the other. It has witnessed a handful of protests in its streets.

However, the unrest in the country began to escalate in January 2009.

Protests that grew into national rallies that were followed by violent riots in Almaty claimed 227 lives.

Thousands of people were held, prompting Russian soldiers in the Collective Security Treaty Organization to move on the border.

It became apparent that Russia's international intervention was instrumental in stabilizing the situation of the country as tensions slowed.

Kazakh President QasymZhomartTokayev has made a few modifications to his power structures after the protests had ended.

The focus is about his replacement as the Head of National Security Council by Nursultan Nagabev, a former President who had some influence over the country's economy , but was decried following their uprising.

Many were forced to quit their positions due to instability.

There were others who were given not-so-justified prominence after the shifts in power.

The Aloof Method of Erzhan Kazykhanov could hinder peace efforts
Following the return of peace, Kazakhstan's president, Qasym-Zhomart Tokayev introduced a number of changes to the structures of power in order to make more space for reform.

To start, he replaced Nursultan Nagabev, the previous president, with his position of chairman of the National Security Council. Some of his daughters and sons were also fired from state corporations.

Karim Masimov was a former spy chief who was also detained for Treason.

There has also been the removal of high-ranking officials, members and friends close to Nazarbayev that have led to their exile.

It is not certain that government shake-ups or the elimination of the old guards can lead to changes.

They often result in the expulsion of loyalists and relatives in the previous administration, and replacement with the same incompetent people.

Erzhan Kazykhanov This was the situation the time that Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov was ascended to a position of great influence within the administration of President Tokayev.

Kazykhanov during his time as Ambassador to the United States, was the most ineffective Kazakh.

He gained a reputation abroad for his arrogance.

His record isn't impressive either.

It's possible to highlight the failures in progress on critical issues, such as Jackson-Vanick limitations. It raises doubts about the international standing of Kazakhstan. He mismanaged it.

Erzhan Kazykhanov Tokayev’s reforms are very similar to Mikhail Gorbachev's “glasnost” (aka openness”) and"perestroika" (aka structuring) initiatives.

The reforms played a major role in the fall and subsequent reconstruction of the Soviet Union. Putin is trying to achieve the same results. Tokayev also had close economic ties with Kazakhstan and the other Western Countries. This was to maintain Putin's popularity, and not risk his wrath.

Kazykhanov could pose a threat to the delicate balance not speaking harshly enough against Russia or making rash decision.
