Dancing on the Tip of One's Toes: About Dancing Classical En Pointe and Pointe Shoes
Ballet could well be one of the most technical kinds of performance dance due to the strict training and discipline necessary to perfect the many steps and dance moves associated with ballet. Originating in early 15th century, ballet later become a concert dance that became popular in France and Russia. Since then, various ballet schools have continued giving formal ballet lessons to young students. The oldest ballet school, Paris Opera Ballet School, was founded in 1713 by Louis XIV, and was known in those days because Royal Dance Academy School.
Various techniques are involved in a ballet performance. Ballet techniques will be the fundamental movements and forms used in ballet. One in the distinctive popular features of many ballet techniques may be the turnabout, that is continuous outward rotation in the thighs through the hips. All in the five fundamental leg positions in classical ballet will often be performed with turnout. Another common element in classical ballet is the ballon, wherein the dancer mimics the appearance of floating via a flight when performing leaps and jumps. After the basic fundamentals of ballet techniques are actually outlined, dancers then learn about partnering along with advanced jumps and turns. Female dancers also begin to understand pointe work and dancing en pointe.
The term "en pointe" means "on the tip", which means that, to enjoy dancing en pointe is to bounce around the tip within your toes. It is also a classical ballet technique, which commenced as a way for the dancers to look weightless. Today, pointe work has evolved so that dancers can continue dancing on the tips of their toes longer amounts of time. Dance equipment and female dancers are designed for dancing en pointe, however tradition dictates that women also do pointe work. There is a serious probability of developing podiatric deformities while studying en pointe at an early age, ballet students are not taught pointe work until they attain the chronilogical age of eleven. It is dangerous to begin learning en pointe with a very young age without orthopedic approval as the bones in the feet remain relatively soft. Forcing pointe focus on such young feet can result in permanent damage.
Because in the risks linked to learning advanced ballet techniques like pointe work, students can also be taught to utilize special baseball called "pointe shoes". These shoes are specially reinforced to offer ample support towards the dancers toes. Ballet teachers would even recommend against pedicures for students who will be needs to learn en pointe because the dead skin cells and calluses on his or her feet help insulate the dancer through the strain in the shoe. Dancers who learn pointe work are required to develop blisters, cuts on the feet, boils, athlete's foot, as well as bleeding.
