How can you keep boredom at bay during late hours of night time security guard at an underground facility

These are hard times. It's difficult to navigate the current gig economy. I did very well in my previous job, but I was fired from my dental assistant job. Now, I have to work nights at the local machine manufacturing plant. The machine is mostly automated. Workers are on hand all day long and I am only part of the night-time crew. I have an emergency number that I contact if there is a problem and the machine ceases to function without a resume time in sight. I call engineers and/or outside line for additional engineers. I don’t do anything. There's nothing to be produced in this area, so night guard is really just a glorified switchboard attendant.

It's peaceful and quiet and I find it enjoyable. It's a peaceful environment, I've had a hard time sleeping at night due to too much gas release, but here it's not an issue. It's quite dull at night and I'm constantly trying to speed it up. For instance, in the last 2 weeks, I've working on the Tik Tok dance. It's not difficult, but it's hard to replicate the dance. The dance was taught by a younger Tik Tok sister, which is why it's hard. I don't know what to say about it, I am old..

I've been trying various car-fixing videos recently. I'm not able to apply them immediately to my car , but I enjoy seeing other people have their cars stop-stopping. DIY videos are also informative and easy to follow. It was at this point that I realized that there was an additional issue. I realized that my internet wouldn't be working any time soon. Therefore, I was unable to do anything useful or watch videos. Evidently, I discovered how to download YouTube videos Youtube and then save them to my phone and , even during the hours of no internet access, I could watch DIY videos right off my phone. It doesn't matter whether you stream it from a particular website or other online. If you download it at home and later watch it on your phone when you don't have internet or another online connection. It's easy to set up a DVR for your online video, and not just TV shows.

Talking of TV, I discovered the ability to download the latest episodes, or movies, too, straight to my personal computer. Since my laptop has bigger screen and more powerful speakers, I've been bringing it to work. I signed up with HULU, and Netflix. This makes it accessible anytime, anyplace, even without internet access. It will take you about 15 minutes to watch TV and lets you catch up on any episodes that you have missed last night.

There are numerous interesting or educational materials I can find at home, and then take to work. This makes my day go much quicker. YouTube's webinars that cover different ways of self-improvement are great. But, I find it hard to comprehend the concepts they discuss in just a few minutes. That's what I'm referring to... My son often goes with me on my way to work. These are the days that my spouse works her night shift and it is impossible for us to not go home. So I accompany him and place him in front of the computer screens, and he falls asleep quickly. When he awakes I give him my laptop and a few of the music videos that I have just downloaded. He's happy, and I'm also happy to do my thing on my phone. This is how we can collaborate more effectively, doing our individual task. It's possible that he likes going to dinner with me. Maybe it's because he is inclined to stay in bed late at night.
