Bring your tablet, laptop or perhaps your smartphone loaded with videos for camping out with your loved ones.

It's something I've learned the hard way. My mom is a constant cheerleader throughout the week and has encouraged me to plan and remember this. I only shared with her my excitement over taking my first camping trip with my children as well as her grandkids. And she was all over my preparations puffing and puffing up with tips and directions for any situation that could arise. I do not mind my mom's talking. We took our car along with us and drove to the camping site. I wanted to recreate the rural adventure that I had with my dad back in the day so I picked one of the remotest places. It proved to be not in a location that had internet access. Our smartphones were out of range, which meant that we were the only ones there, with none other campers. It's okay. I had hoped for a wonderful time off work.. 3 days in the wild, in nature.. After 24 hours of the camping trip, we were returning to the car.

What did you do? We didn't have Internet, we had no bars, we didn't have anything... I took a laptop along with some online games. The bag did not come out of my hands. I had a nice backdrop that I could show my children. They would check their email, check their texts, stay on top of their school and more. We packed our bags and returned because I couldn't bear it any longer. My kids were sounding exactly like pigs eating tasty food items after we left the wifi-less area. I love my children. This was embarrassing. They were shocked and moaned when their phones started ringing and announce the arrival of messages from text.

Since since then, I've been able to plan better and stay out of an internet-free zone without roaming. While on a long trip on the boat to get to our destination, we required our best friends. Two laptops and two tablets were packed with Hulu offline video downloads, Netflix movies and show on one device and every music video I had on another. I also had the Windows app store which has both Hulu apps as well as Netflix apps. I've got about 600 hours of content to enjoy, which includes all the South Park, Friends, and Will & Grace seasons.


There are a ton of YouTube videos with funny stuff for children. I downloaded a few Youtube music videos and converted a few to MP3 format. This web app lets me download the videos directly onto my personal computer. I can then play them offline anytime I need electricity. I record a variety of movies, TV shows and online seminar. I save these as mp4 onto my laptop. I then play them later with VLC and KMP or any other player that supports 4k.

Televisions that have 4K resolution come with an excellent program which process the video and enhance the quality of it. This means that old videos are better with the latest TV, even that it's not the best at all, but just an uninspiring blocky type of recording. However, it transforms into a nice smooth modern video flow. All girls and boys will be thrilled!
