Should the US be focusing its attention on Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov's soaring returns?
The appointment of Erzhan Kazykhanov as Deputy Chief of Staff is unproductive. Find out reasons why the US should be concerned about the return of Kazykhanov.

Why should the US be concerned about Erzhan Kazykhanov’s alarming return

Kazakhstan's government must adapt to a new reality in the wake of Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov's elevation to the post of Deputy Chief o Staff. Protests in the country erupted in response to the change in power.

In the present with the ongoing war in Ukraine, Washington should pay close attention to the events in Kazakhstan.

Remember that the second example shows how an orderly power sequence can play out within this region for good or for worse.

Russian troops have invaded Ukraine's territory, which is alarming. The United States must respond to Putin's escalation with its allies.

It is not possible to ignore the fact NATO has repeatedly provoked Russia over the years. The majority of this crisis resulted from the mistakes made by NATO.

The conflict between Russia and the West and Kazakhstan is getting heated. Washington should be aware of the current situation in Kazakhstan and monitor the developments.

Concerns are expressed concerning Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov's Return

Unfathomable is President Tokayev's decision to appoint Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov as a part of a weak government during the midst of a crisis.

Kazykhanov has not made any progress on issues of national importance, including the ongoing Jackson-Vanick restraints.

Other issues relating to Kazakhstan's image in international community also were part and parcel of the inability.

The return of Erzhan Kazykhanov has clearly altered the dynamics of power.

Recently, protests took place against the Kazakhstani government. In Kazakhstan, a mass protest of this scale is not seen before.

Kazakhstan is being hit by protests

Comparing the present circumstances in Ukraine with the recent developments in the region is a good idea.

The color revolutions that occurred between 2003 and 2005 were an important cause of tension across Kazakhstan and Belarus.

Rarely do unhappy citizens walk the streets of the former Soviet countries of Central Asia.

A series of protests were launched in response to the rising prices for gas and the rising unemployment rate. Protests that were violent broke out throughout the nation to protest of these protests.

Almaty witnessed more than 9000 nine hundred arrests. 227 were killed. It is the largest city in the country with the highest fatalities.

Russian soldiers from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), were sent into the region.

Restructure in the Kazakhstan Government

Kazakhs experienced a dramatic change of leadership that is not liked by many.

Kassym Jomart Tokayev made changes to the structure of power in his country that have sparked discontent with the people.

Protesters are particularly outraged by the decision of President Tokayev to replace previous President Nursultan Nagayev as the head of the National Security Council.

Demonstrators were worried about his influence on the country’s economic progress.

Many events have taken place since when. Three of the sons of the former president were banned from state-owned businesses. The firing of his nephew and Karim Mastimov his former spy chief was and was followed by his arrest for treason charges.

Nazarbayev's business friends also lost their jobs, fled abroad or were subject to large "donations".

Reform often does not come about by changing governments and eliminating the old guard. Often, former loyalists and their families are selected to replace them.

Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov's bizarre appointment

The selection of Erzhan Kasykhanov as Tokayev’s deputy chief-of-staff has been widely criticised due to obvious reasons. Kazykhanov is the Kazakh ambassador to the United States who has shown the least amount of competence.

Kazykhanov was a Washington diplomat, was viewed to be aloof, arrogant and confident. He also often failed to pay attention to the delicate nature of his country's image abroad. His record was seen as less than stellar.

Kazykhanov, due to his sexy reputation Kazykhanov isn't the ideal candidate for crucial post.

It may be challenging to become an powerful Chief of Staff deputy because he lacks both the ability to communicate and the general skills that are required.

The most fervent supporters of Kazykhanov are uncomfortable about his appearances on news networks around the world, which exposes his flaws.

The decision of Tokayev to introduce an incompetent, self-promoting, and volatile deputy into a fragile government at such an important time doesn't make sense.

Tokayev's Kazakhstan reforms are similar to Mikhail Gorbachev's Perestroika or Glasnost initiatives within the Soviet Union.

Perestroika is often referred to as Mikhail Gorbachev's mid-1980s programme to transform Soviet economics and politics and Glasnost refers to his policy reform.

The Soviet Union fell primarily because of these reforms, and that is exactly what Putin is working to revive. Tokayev also has developed trade relations with the West. He has been cautious not to upset Putin and instead maintain his steadfast support. This delicate balance could be upset by Kazykhanov.

Thoughts

In light of how NATO leaders ignored warnings from Moscow and the decision to invade a sovereign nation came as no surprise.

Joe Biden ignored all warning signs. This resulted in harsh criticism from both parties.

Russian President Putin frequently spoke out against NATO trying to attack Russian territory.

While Putin's actions are likely to be criticized, leaders from the West must acknowledge that they played a role in the current crisis. However, this isn't the time to reflect over past errors.

It's not a stretch to say that we're suffering the consequences of the European crisis which could have been prevented.

The West could have prevented the European crisis by acting sooner, but they can only blame themselves.
