The hashtag #GirlDad was never about the girls, but rather about virtue signalling. The hashtag was named after Kobe Bryant, a hero to many because of his career achievements, but it was also popular because of his 2003 sexual assault case. What's worse, it was supposed to support women's rights, but instead was just a platform for men to signal their support for their daughters. There are many examples of this.
