Avery Scholastica Desjardins,atau yang biasa dipanggil akrab Ave adalah seorang gadis keturunan Jerman-Prancis. Ave lahir di sebuah kota kecil di Jerman,yang bernama Amorbach namun dibesarkan di Berlin. Sejak belia,Ave tidak pernah mengenal kedua orangtua kandungnya secara pribadi,Ia sudah diserahkan kepada keluarga Desjardins dari bayi.
Keluarga Desjardins adalah salah satu keluarga mafia terpandang di daratan eropa,terkenal dengan kegemarannya mengadopsi anak anak dari golongan kurang untuk dilatih menjadi seorang Asassin,salah satunya adalah Avery. Ketika berumur 18 Tahun,avery dikategorikan telah 'lulus' dari pelatihannya,dan dengan 'kelulusan'nya itulah,Ave menjalani hari harinya sebagai pembunuh bayaran.
