Like most guys moving to the big city, I was ambitious and looking for any opportunity I could get to further my career and education. Like my parents had instructed in me, I wanted to become a very successful young businessman working for the most prestigious company in the big city. I knew I wasn’t going to live in my parents farm for me entire life, I wanted to move ahead in life and if that had meant I had to move away from my mom and dad, it had to be done , they fully supported me after all. Well, here I was, I had been here for the past 10 years since I graduated high school back in my home town. I had been taking classes like crazy, all basic core classes and the advanced business, business administration ones. I had been living with roommates all this time, well up until now since the lease had ended and my roommate and I had to separate and well we also had our differences so I decided it was time for someone new to room with. I had always been a likable and well If I say so myself, not so bad looking.

Here I was looking and searching through the web for anyone who had a spare room. I was seated at a cafe in down town as I was dressed with my white long sleeve button downed shirt and a black tie with my black slacks and black dress shoes. My back blazer was hanging from a hanger at the cafe entrance as I browse my laptop sipping on some coffee.

I sat, playing with my cats on the couch. The bustling streets of Las Vegas were nothing but noise to me anymore. The world was just noise. I felt lonely in all of it, so caught up with no one to talk to but the paintings and the cats. The rich life was not the life I had wanted, but it was the life I was unfortunately born into. I loved the city streets like I loved my peace and quiet. Yet unfortunately you cannot have one with the other. The cats made for great company, but there really was nothing like a humans company. I have sparingly ever thought about a roommate, but maybe it was time to think about it. Afterall, who wouldn't want to live with one of the richest girls in the city? They'd love to be around. Free Whiskey from my mother and fathers company would also be a benefit. I thought that I looked pretty decent too, good enough to tolerate at least.

I finally decide after a while of debate that I would post something online. I head to a coffeehouse on the outskirts of the city. I open up my laptop and try to find a forum. I have my hair in a messy bun, a small thin knit shirt, and a pair of leggings. I fill out a forum post it, hoping someone will find it interesting, and apply.

I take a moment after I finish making the form to go order my coffee. I return to my seat to wait for a while, taking in the coffeehouses atmosphere. I look in your direction, noting how you were dressed. "Must be some businessman, a little cute though." I think to myself, looking over at a group of girls, noting how they were looking in your direction. "Gossip girls." My train of thought is interrupted by the barista calling my name. I stand up and grab my coffee, thanking the barista as she hands me my drink. I sit down and drink until my coffee is gone, throwing it away and stepping outside for a moment. I return after 2 minutes, ordering the exact same drink and a tea to take home. I sit back down, my gaze returning to you as I fix my glasses.

I smile back at you I pack my laptop into my bag, wiping off my glasses. I wait quietly for my name to be called again. I pull out my phone as I have begun to get bored with waiting. As I hear my name being called again, I thank the barista once more as I grab my drinks and exit the coffeehouse. Before I leave though, I smile at you again and wave as best I can with coffee in my hands. I head back to my apartment to await any responses to my request. I had begun to think about you, smiling to myself. "How lovely he looked, I'm sure he is married or dating at least..." I say, picking up one of the cats and cuddling him. "Can't wait until you can see a new face other than mine can't you Socks?" I say, kissing the top of his head.

I smile, whispering to Socks "We did it baby!" I turn my head back to the phone, "Yes, I am. How are you this evening Mr....?" I ask trailing my own sentence. "I don't believe I got your name... Maybe you did, forgive me if you did" I say in my most calm voice possible, despite being extremely excited.

I smile "You know my name, but mine is Jackie, just so you remember." I say, whispering to Socks again. "We got one baby!" I return to the conversation. "Yes, I can do that right now, if you would like. I am also free after 4:30 every weekday." I say, glancing over at Tiny. "Now, Mr. Tom, I need you to describe to me what you are needing." I say, letting my tone lighten a little bit.

I pause for a moment, looking around at the place. "Uhm yes! You can, are you alright with cats? No allergies right?" I say, panicking and cleaning up some stuff of of the floor.

"Yes yes... See you soon Tom." I say, grabbing some more clothes, throwing them into the laundry. I hang up and throw my phone onto the couch, grabbing the vacuum and sweeping up cat hair.

I open the door almost as soon as you ring. I smile at you "Tom I presume?" I say, stepping to the side. "Please come in, would you like a drink?" I ask, stepping towards the kitchen looking behind me, recognizing you from somewhere. I smile and walk to the kitchen once more, opening a cabinet. "If you do, I mostly have whiskey. Though I do have some wine and vodka somewhere..." I say, rummaging for a moment. I feel a cat brush against my leg, "Tiny! Careful..." I sound almost out of breath, panicked, and frightened.
