My personal story is not an epic one... I was born, then went to college and worked, fought and then finally, I was able to achieve something online. However, it does include several traumatic moments when I believed that my life was done. One of those instances was the time my personal computer at work went quiet. After a little tweaking, acquiring a new desktop and moving my hard drive from the old one into new one I was able to restore all the work on the drive. It took me three days of sweating and literally tears. However, I did learn an important lesson: Dropbox and personal file servers are a great way to automate or manually back up my entire day's work.
It's not the ideal option. The more information you store online is the higher the cost you'll have to pay to allow it to be saved online. It's easy and very secure. It's also accessible and is able to be downloaded from anywhere that has internet connectivity. What is the consequence if WiFi or an internet connection is unavailable? In those instances, I am grateful to have my laptop around with me, it is like my final safe harbor for the backups. There are 2 drives that I have, which I use as RAID stacks. They both copy one another and have a backup in the event that one of my HDDs is damaged. Since I copy the majority of my data there, it's not often that the laptop works. I do not wish for two drives to be destroyed at the same time.
Another day of great sadness was a few months ago. I'm very careful not to lose my work. Like I said, I now copy it numerous times and am able to access it whenever the internet is accessible. It was Periscope. It was something I frequently used a time in the past, and even during the riots of 2020, I participated in several live streams. However, Periscope TV suddenly closed, and all videos will be gone within some weeks. What can I do? I want all the videos to be downloaded so that they can be saved off-line on my laptop. They are very important for me. It's the only time I've seen my friend who vanished off the radar during Covid. Seems like it was a mistake.
youtubedownload
It's a website that I utilize to download videos from Youtube, Instagram, Facebook as well as other websites. I am interested in politics as well as underground movements. So I film many live events, and save certain ones for later and then publish them on Youtube. Every time I finish live, I backup it into my laptop. This is the way I work. It allows me to cross-posting videos on multiple platforms. Not only can I post Youtube videos on Facebook however, I can also upload the video directly onto Facebook. It's a separate video. In fact I am able to store more than 3TB of live feeds over the past 8 years. Periscope will not disappear.. This site really helps me.

It's like magic. You can open the video you'd like to download on Periscope, Youtube, or Facebook. Copy its URL by clicking the share link. Then, I visit the video downloader's website and copy the URL. Then, I can download the video onto my computer or my desktop. I can also save it to my computer to utilize on other platforms. It is also possible to give it to my friends. Not every site can help with Periscope, but this one does well, it can handle m3u8 file formats which other websites typically download on your behalf.. These are useful well, but don't get me wrong, but they actually use online video feed fragments which means that playing the file within VLC although it's great isn't really achieving the goal because the video isn't actually on your machine, it's still online and playing from the Internet when the player loads the short fragments one by one...
If you weren't aware, the Windows copy command is a great tool to connect these fragments and produce a normal-length video file. This happens due to the video format used for the video fragments - Mpeg TS, also known as transport stream. Each fragment is packed with all the information needed for video decoding. This allows each streamer to begin streaming smoothly starting from the middle. The browser also allows you to save data since it only downloads files that are relevant to the content you are watching. For instance, if you only view 25 seconds of the stream the player downloads only 3-4 fragments. Additionally, it may download the next couple of fragments. This decreases the download time by only downloading 25 seconds prior to the start of the stream.
