It is recommended to bring an iPad, laptop and, occasionally, an iPhone with videos to camp with your kids.

It's something I've learned the hard way. My mom was on my shoulder all weeklong, telling me to plan this and keep in mind that. I was excited about my first camping experience with her grandkids and my mom, but she was constantly giving me advice on what to do. I am not averse to my mom talking. I don't listen to her lecture makes me uncomfortable. I made a huge mistake and learned that the next day or two was my fault.

We left in the car with the intention to bring it all back to the camping site. To recreate the trip my dad had back in the past I decided to go to an undiscovered spot that, as it turned to be later on, was out of service. Our phones were not in range, so we were the only people there, with none other campers. I'm not disappointed, I was expecting a great camping trip..

What next? There was no Internet and we didn't have bars, and we didn't have anything... I took a laptop along with some online games and didn't get it out of my bag.. I had a nice backdrop to show my children. Their sole purpose was to go through their messages, emails and keep track of their things at school and other things. We packed our bags and made our way back. My kids sound like little pigs enjoying delicious food when we got out of the wifi-less zone. I really do love my children. It was embarrassing. They groaned and moan as their phones started to beep and announceincoming messages via text.


Since then, I've been more prepared and am trying to stay clear of an internet-free zone that does not allow roaming. After a long boat ride toward our destination, I discovered myself in need of my two most trusted companions: two tablets and laptop. They were equipped with Hulu streaming video at one end, Netflix movies, and shows on the opposite. The laptop also has music videos, as as some movies that I have downloaded to view later on Hulu as well as Netflix apps through the Windows app store. I've got over 600 hours worth of material which includes full episodes from the South Park, Friends, Will & Grace seasons, as well as additional episodes.

There are a ton of YouTube videos with funny stuff for kids. I downloaded a few Youtube music videos and converted a few into mp3 format. I came across this website application that allows me download video directly onto my laptop. This allows me to enjoy the videos on my laptop at anytime I want as long as I have enough electricity. I record a variety of movies, TV shows and online seminar. I save these videos in mp4 format onto my laptop. I afterwards play them using VLC and KMP or any other player that supports 4k.

4k is another thing which I am adamant about. You've seen it? It's incredible! I would recommend it. Televisions that support 4K image have amazing software in the TV that process that image and makes it better, and upscales it. Old video footage is converted into smooth and modern video. Highly recommended to all boys and girls.
