Online video storage is unpredictable. Websites can shut down or cease to exist. Here are the steps you can take to backup your social media presence on your laptop.

My personal story isn't too long. I was born, went through school, got a job, and then finally got something online. There were moments that I felt like all was lost forever. One of those moments was when my personal computer at home stopped working... After a few minutes of tweaking, shifting the hard drive from my old drive to the new drive and obtaining the new desktop, all my work was restored. It took me three days of sweat and cry... but I did learn one thing. Dropbox and my personal ftp server can be able to backup automatically and manually my day's work so that it is never lost.

This is not the most ideal option. The more data you store in your online storage, the more will have to shell out to keep it. It's simple to use and appears very safe. It's also accessible, can be downloaded anywhere you have access to internet. What is the consequence if WiFi or an internet connection is unavailable? I find it very comforting to have my laptop with me at all times, as it acts as my backup option last resort. Two drives are on my computer, each with an RAID stack. They both copy each other and ensure that there is at least one copy in case one of the HDDs is destroyed. Since I copy the majority of my files there, it is rare that my laptop is working. I don't want 2 drives to fail at the same time.

I have now copied the same file multiple times and make it on hand wherever internet connectivity is accessible. This was Periscope. I have used it quite a in the past and this past summer, during the riots in 2020, I was able to participate in some live streams.. And all of an sudden Periscope TV is closing, and all videos will disappear in just couple of weeks. What should I do next? I'm required to download the entire video to store them offline on my laptop. They are extremely important to me. It's also the last time I've been hanging with my friend who disappeared from the radar during Covid and it seems like it got him..

It's a site I utilize to download videos from Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, and other places. I am passionately involved with underground movements, politics and underground movements. I record many times, then save them and upload them to my YouTube channel. When the live event is over the footage is downloaded to my laptop. This is me. This lets me cross-posting videos across multiple platforms. Not only can I share YouTube videos on Facebook, but I also can upload that video directly to Facebook. It's a separate video. It's amazing how many live feeds have I created over the past eight years. I currently have 3TB. It's not like I'm losing my Periscope lives.. This site helps me a lot.

It works like magic. The video I would like to save on Periscope or Youtube is displayed. I then copy the URL using the share button. I then navigate to the site for video downloaders, paste the video link there, and in a matter of seconds I will see multiple choices for downloading videos. I can download it to my desktop or laptop, transfer it to other platforms, and preserve it for my family and friends ones. Periscope isn't available on every website. But it is supported by this one.

By the way, if you were unaware that you could make windows copy commands to help you put such fragments together and make a normal 1 long video file. This is due to the format of video used to create the video fragments, Mpeg TS or transport stream. It contains all the data necessary for decoding video within each fragment. It only downloads streams you're currently watching. Your player will get 3-4 fragments of the 25-second stretch and 1-2 following fragments depending on how long it continues to view the stream.
