The Return of Erzhan Kazykhanov Does Not Help Kazakhstan Unrest
Kazakhstan Unrest will not be lessened by Erzhan Kazykhanov's return to the Country as Deputy Head of Staff

Following a string of protests that have shaken Kazakhstan and the country's leadership, Kazakhstan's government is forced to confront a new reality.

Erzhan Kazykhanov's return highlights the power dynamics that have shifted.

The world arena has to adjust to an increasingly assertive and empowered citizenry. In addition, policymakers need to be aware of these changes and devise effective methods to communicate with the nation.

The role of Ukraine in Kazakhstan's shift
Over the past weeks, has focused all its focus to Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin had been planning and launching an attack against the sovereign state. It's not surprising considering that NATO officials, including Biden, the President of NATO Biden did not heed the warnings of Moscow. Russian President Putin has repeatedly condemned NATO's intention to invading Russian territory.

While the actions of Putin are unjust and need to be condemned, the west must acknowledge that their mistakes have contributed to the current crisis. We are now living with the consequences of a European crisis that could have been avoided and it's fair to declare.

Protests In Kazakhstan
There should be comparisons made between Ukraine and the current situation in the region. Here are the unrest in Belarus especially Kazakhstan between 2003 and 2005. Being an ex Soviet country located in central Asia Kazakhstan is not often a part of protests on the streets so publicly expressing their discontent.

A series of protests launched in Kazakhstan in the beginning of 2012 over the rise in gas prices and the decline in the job market. The protests turned violent riots and rallies across the nation. Almaty saw the greatest loss of life in the city, with 227 dead and more than 9900 being in detention. Russian troops from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) were briefly stationed in Almaty.

Restructuring Kazakhstan's Government, Erzhan Kazykhanov Return
Qasym Zhomart tokayev Kazakhstan's new president, brought many changes to the power structure of the ruling elite. These changes have caused concern and questions among many Kazakhs.

Protesters were particularly angry about the decision of President Tokayev to replace the previous president Nursultan Nagabev as the top position of the government's National Security Council. This was despite his influence on the economy of the country.

The sons-in-law of the former president were dismissed and three nephews of the president were exiled from state enterprises. Karim Mastimov, former spy chief, was also removed from office. Numerous business leaders who were who were associated with the former president Nazarbayev also lost their jobs or fled to abroad for "extended vacations" or were slapped with large "donations."

Reform doesn't always happen when government is changed or the old guard is removed. It is too common for members of the previous administration to be replaced by similar ineffective family members and loyalists.

Erzhan Kazykhanov 's Appointment Is a Disappointment
It is counterproductive to note that Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov was appoint to the prestigious post of deputy chief of staff, of the President Tokayev. Kazakh Kazykhanov was Kazakhstan's most ineffective ambassador abroad to the United States, was Kazakh Kazykhanov.

In Washington, Kazykhanov was a solo, arrogant diplomat who was self-confident, and sometimes uninformed about the sensitive character of Kazakhstan's image abroad. He was not able to make improvements in national interests, such as the Jackson Vanick restrictions and other issues that affect the reputation of Kazakhstan in the world. This is why Kazykhanov's performance has been so disappointing.

Due to his unworthy reputation and a shady background, Kazykhanov is unlikely to be a candidate for important posts. Kazykhanov is not equipped to serve as the deputy chief of staff.

Many of Kazakhstan's most passionate supporters have been uncomfortable about Kazykhanov's frequent appearance on important news networks around the world, revealing his weaknesses. Tokayev's decision to not allow an unpopular, self-promoting, incompetent deputy to be a part of a fragile system at such a crucial time is absurd.

Tokayev's Kazakhstan reforms are reminiscent of Mikhail Gorbachev's Perestroika during the Soviet Union and Glasnost. Perestroika (of Mikhail Gorbachev) is a mid-1980s programme that reformed Soviet economics. Glasnost refers back to his reforms to the policy. The Soviet Union fell largely because of these reforms. This is exactly the kind of thing Putin is trying to restore. Tokeyev is also a strong advocate of Putin's economic relations with countries surrounding his own country. This delicate balance could be shattered by Kazykhanov.

In Doubly Times The United States Should Be Watchful of Kazakhstan
Washington should pay attention to Kazakhstan's events during the conflict in Ukraine. They're an example of what a succession of power might appear like in this area of the world, either for better or worse.

The invading of Ukraine by Russian forces is a troubling incident, and it's vital that the United States and its allies take appropriate action to counter Putin's aggression. It is important to remember that NATO has been prodding Russia for a long time and that this crisis is a direct result of their deficiency.

Washington should pay particular attention to Kazakhstani events. It may be the next trigger in the war between Russia, the West and Russia.
