Kazakhstan Unrest Will Not Be Influenced by Erzhan Kazykhanov's Return
Kazakhstan Unrest Will not Be Eased By Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov's return as Deputy Chief Of Staff

The government of Kazakhstan is confronting a new reality following an array of protests which have shaken the country.

Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov's Return shows how power dynamics have changed.

International relations have to change to an assertive citizenry. Additionally, policymakers must be aware of the changing times in order to figure out effective ways to engage with the people of the world.

The role of Kazakhstan's Ukraine in Kazakhstan's shift
In the last couple of weeks all eyes have been at Ukraine for the past few weeks as Russian President Vladimir Putin prepared for and launched a full-scale invasion against an independent nation. This is not unexpected, given the fact that NATO leaders, including Biden, President of NATO, Biden ignoring Moscow's warnings, was not surprising. Russian President Putin has repeatedly opposed NATO's attempt to intrude on Russian territory.

Although Putin's policies have been criticized however, the leaders of the west have to acknowledge that they were the ones to cause the crisis. It's acceptable to say that we're experiencing the consequences of the European crisis that could have been avoided.

Protests in Kazakhstan
It is important to draw a comparison between the current situation in Ukraine and events within the region. The color revolutions of 2003 to 2005 are mentioned, as well as unrest in Belarus and in particular Kazakhstan. Being the former Soviet country located in central Asia, it rarely sees protests on the streets so publicly expressing its discontent.

Protests started in Kazakhstan at the beginning of the year, protesting against rising gasoline prices and worsening unemployment conditions. The protests turned violent, resulting in riots and a series of nationwide rallies. Almaty witnessed the biggest loss of life in the city, with 227 dead and over 9900 in detention. The Russian troops of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, (CSTO), were briefly in Almaty.

Restructure in Kazakhstan's Government as well as Erzhan Kazykhanov's return
Qasym Zhomart Tokayev President of Kazakhstan, Qasym Zhomart Tokayev, has brought about many changes to the power structure that caused concern and anger in the majority of Kazakhs even during moments of peace.

Protesters were particularly angry about the decision of President Tokayev to replace former President Nursultan Nagabev as top position of the government's National Security Council. This was despite his influence on the economy of the country.

Three of the sons-in-laws of the former president were ejected from the state enterprises they worked for. The nephew of the president was fired as well as Karim Masimov was arrested on treason charges. A number of business elite members associated with former President Nazarbayev had their jobs resigned or emigrated abroad for lengthy vacations, or were given heavy "donations."

Change doesn't always occur when the government changes or the old guard is removed. It is common for members from the previous administrations to be replaced ineffectively by loyalists or family members.

Erzhan Kamykhanov's appointment is disappointing
The selection of Erzhan Kazykhanov to the powerful position of Deputy Chief of Staff by the president Tokayev is counterproductive. Kazakh Kazykhanov was the Kazakhstan's least effective ambassador to the United States.

In Washington, Kazykhanov was a solitary, arrogant diplomat, self-confident, and sometimes out of touch with the sensitive nature of Kazakhstan's image abroad. Kazykhanov was also unable to achieve any progress in matters of national importance, including the continuing Jackson-Vanick restrictions as well as other issues relating to Kazakhstan's reputation in the world and, therefore, his performance is unexceptional.

Kazykhanov who has a tangled and unspeakable reputation, isn't likely to be considered for crucial post. The Deputy Chiefs of staff require diplomatic skills, a broad understanding and competence and none of these Kazykhanov is proficient in.

https://econotimes.com/Why-should-Erzhan-Kazykhanovs-policy-concern-the-US-1629870 of Kazakhstan's most loyal supporters weren't happy with Kazykhanov's frequent appearances on international news networks, which revealed his weaknesses. It's absurd Tokayev would bring in a volatile, incompetent assistant to his fragile government at such an important time.

Tokayev’s Kazakhstan reforms are reminiscent of Mikhail Gorbachev’s Perestroika as well as the Glasnost initiative in the Soviet Union. Perestroika, which Mikhail Gorbachev established in the mid-1980s to reform Soviet politics and economics, is more commonly known. Glasnost refers to his policy reform. The Soviet Union fell largely because of these reforms. This is exactly what Putin is seeking to bring back. Tokeyev has also developed economic relationships with the countries that surround his own and with the West, and he has taken care not to upset Putin, but rather to maintain his steadfast support. Kazykhanov could upset the delicate balance.

While Unsteady Times are abound, the United States should be particularly attentive to Kazakhstan
Washington should pay more attention to Kazakhstan events , rather than the conflict in Ukraine. They illustrate the way power transfer could be triggered in this region regardless of whether it's for positive or negative reasons.

It's a pity that Russian forces have invaded Ukraine. The United States and its allies should take the necessary steps to stop Putin's aggression. However, it's crucial to keep in mind that NATO has been provoking Russia for a long time. This crisis is partly due to their own mistakes.

Washington should pay special attention to Kazakhstani events. It could be the next trigger in the war between Russia as well as the West. Russia.
