Should the US concentrate solely on Erzhan Karakynov's frightening return to power?
Erzhan Kazykhanov's appointment as Deputy Chief of Staff is counterproductive. Learn why the US should be concerned about the possibility of his return.

Why is it that US attention be on Erzhan Kasykhanov’s alarming Return?

The appointment of Erzhan Kasykhanov as Deputy Chief Of Staff has forced Kazakhstan's administration to adjust to a new world. This led to protests that were sparked across the country.

Washington should be paying the events in Kazakhstan now more than ever, especially considering the conflict that has erupted in Ukraine.

Be aware however that the last shows the way power successions could occur in this space - either for better or worse.

Russian troops invading Ukrainian territories is alarming. The United States, along with its allies, should take action to stop the aggression of Putin.

It is a fact that NATO has been inciting Russia for years. A lot of these conflicts are caused by NATO miscalculations.

As the conflict with Russia grows between West and Russia, Washington should monitor the developments in Kazakhstan.

Concern is expressed over Erzhan Kazykhanov's return

It's incomprehensible that President Tokayev has appointed Erzhan Kazykhanov to an unstable and unstable government during a time of crisis.

Kazykhanov was not able to advance on national interests issues such as the Jackson-Vanick limitations.

Other problems related to Kazakhstan's international image were also a part of the failure.

The power dynamics of the country have changed clearly in the wake of Erzhan Kazykhanov 's election.

Recently, protests against Kazakhstan's government have been held. In Kazakhstan, a mass demonstration of this size is not seen before.

Kazakhstan is shaken by a protest wave.

Comparing the present situation in Ukraine with recent events in the region is a good idea.

The color revolutions from 2003-2005 were among the main causes of turmoil in Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries.

Rarely do you witness people who are so unhappy with Central Asia's former Soviet country, taking to the streets.

Prices for gas increased, and poor employment conditions led to a series of protests early this year. The result was that violence was rife across the country.

Almaty was home to the highest number of deaths, with 227 killed and 9000 nine hundred others arrested.

Russian troops from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) were deployed to the area.

Restructuring of Kazakhstan's government

The Kazakhs were subject to an abrupt change in their direction, which was criticized by many.

Kassym Jomart Tokayev's modifications in the structure of power have led to anger among his fellow citizens.

Protesters were especially upset over President Tokayev’s decision to quit as the President Nursultan Azzarbayev's chief of the National Security Council.

His influence on the economic growth of the country was a matter of concern to protesters.

Many events have occurred since then. Three sons-in-law of the president's former wife were barred from state-owned businesses. His nephew was fired and Karim Masimov, his former spy chief, was arrested for treason.

They aren't the only ones to have been fired by Nazarbayev. Others from his business circles have left for other countries or received large "donations."

The change of governments and the removal of old guards often are not the catalyst for reform. Many times family members and loyalists of the former administration are selected by the state to replace them.

Erzhan Kykhanov's unjustified appointment

There are a variety of reasons Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov wasn't named Tokayev's deputy chief of staff. He isn't the most knowledgeable Kazakh ambassador for the United States.

Kazykhanov as a Washington diplomat was frequently viewed as arrogant and insecure. His performance was not spectacular.

Kazykhanov is a tough candidate for crucial positions due to his reputation as a troublemaker and unworthy.

He is not equipped with the required capabilities in diplomatic communication or general know-how to become an influential deputy head of staff.

The most ardent supporters of Kazykhanov are not happy with his appearances on international news outlets that expose his weaknesses.

Tokayev was wrong to hire a volatile, self-promoting and incompetent deputy to support the government at such critical time.

Tokayev’s Kazakhstan reforms remind me of Mikhail Gorbachev's Perestroika in the Soviet Union and Glasnost.

Perestroika can be referred to as the mid-1980s' Mikhail Gorbachev's reform plan for Soviet economy and political system. Glasnost was a reference to his reforms in policy.

These reforms were the primary reason why the Soviet Union collapsed. This is exactly the situation Putin is trying to reverse. Tokayev has also developed economic relationships with his neighbors and the West. He has not been a problem on the side of Putin and has instead maintained his support. The delicate balance of the two could be shattered by Kazykhanov.

Point of thought

The incursion of a sovereign nation was inevitable, considering the fact that NATO leaders did not listen to Moscow's warnings.

Joe Biden ignored warning signs. This caused severe criticism from both parties.

Russian President Putin has frequently spoken out against NATO's plan to intrude on Russian territory.

Although Putin's actions were inexcusable they have to admit that western leaders played a role in the crisis. It is not the moment to dwell over our mistakes of the past.

It is easy to see that we are now living with the aftermath of European crises that could have been avoided.

While the West could not have averted this European crisis if they had acted earlier than they did, they need to admit they are responsible.
