Kazakhstan Unrest will not be Influenced by Erzhan Kazykhanov's return
Kazakhstan Unrest will not be alleviated by Erzhan Kazykhanov 's Return to the Country as Deputy Head of Staff

Following a string of protests in Kazakhstan and elsewhere, the government is forced to accept the new realities.

The power dynamics that have changed are apparent in Erzhan Kazykhanov 's return.

International relations must adapt to an assertive citizenry. Furthermore, the policymakers have to be aware of the changing times to find effective ways to communicate with the nation.

Ukraine's Role In Kazakhstan's Shift
The last few weeks have been a time when all eyes focus on Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin planned and launched a massive invasion against an independent nation. Considering the fact that NATO leaders, including the president Biden, ignored the warnings from Moscow, this was not a surprise. Russian President Putin has repeatedly decried NATO's plan to attack Russian territory.

Although Putin's actions are unacceptable Leaders from the West must acknowledge that they contributed to the current crisis. Now we have to deal with the consequences of an European crisis that could have have easily be avoided.

Protests In Kazakhstan
The current situation in Ukraine is a good opportunity to compare it with the events of recent times in the region. The following are the protests in Belarus especially Kazakhstan from 2003 until 2005. Since Kazakhstan is the former Soviet republic, it is seldom seen in the streets expressing discontent.

A series of protests began early this year in Kazakhstan over the rising cost of gas and the state of unemployment. These protests turned into violent riots, which then resulted in nationwide protests. Almaty witnessed the biggest deaths as 227 people were killed and over 9900 held. Russian troops from Collective Security Treaty Organization CSTO were briefly deployed.

Restructuring Kazakhstan's Government, Erzhan Kazykhanov Return
Qasym Zhomart tokayev Kazakhstan’s new president, brought many changes to the power structure within the ruling class. These have caused concern and questions among many Kazakhs.

Protesters were particularly outraged by the fact over the fact that President Tokayev is now in charge of the presidency of the government's National Security Council. It was replaced by former President Nursultan Nasarbayev whose influence was a source of concern to them.

In the wake of these incidents, three of the former president's son-in-laws were defrocked from state-owned enterprises, his nephew was fired, and the former chief of spying, Karim Masimov, was arrested on treason charges. In addition to these officials, many members of the business elite that were a part of the former president Nazarbayev have now lost their jobs, or fled to other countries to take "extended vacations" or had hefty "donations" imposed on them.

The changes in government and elimination of old guards do not always result in reform. It's not uncommon for loyalists and family members of the previous administration to replace them.

Erzhan Kasykhanov's appointment is A Disappointment
Erzhan Kasykhanov's nomination as the President's highly influential position as Deputy Chief of Staff was unproductive. Kazakh Kazykhanov was Kazakhstan's most ineffective ambassador to the United States.

Washington observed Kazykhanov as a cocky diplomat who was too confident and uncaring about the image of his country. Kazykhanov was also unable to achieve any progress on issues of national interest like the restrictions on Jackson-Vanick and other issues that affect Kazakhstan's image in the world So his performance was not impressive.

Kazykhanov who has a tangled and unforgiving reputation, isn't likely to be considered for key post. Kazykhanov is not equipped with the necessary skills to become a Chief of Staff.

Even Kazakhstan's most loyal supporters are sceptical about Kazykhanov's frequent appearances on the world's top media outlets, which reveal his weaknesses. Tokayev's decision at this crucial time to hire an incompetent and self-promoting deputy to a weak unstable, unstable government doesn't make sense.

Tokayev’s Kazakhstan reforms remind of Mikhail Gorbachev’s Perestroika and the Glasnost initiative in the Soviet Union. Perestroika is Mikhail Gorbachev’s mid-1980s reform program to improve Soviet political and economic systems. Glasnost refers specifically to the policy changes he made. This reform was largely responsible for the collapse of the Soviet Union, and Putin is currently trying to reverse the trend. Tokeyev also has established economic relations with both his country and with the West. Tokeyev has tried to avoid offending Putin however he has also tried to maintain his support. This delicate balance could be disturbed by Kazykhanov.

In Unsteady Times The USA Must Pay Close Attention To Kazakhstan
Washington must be paying close attention to developments in Kazakhstan in the course of the conflict in Ukraine. These events are an indication of how a power transition can occur in this part of the world, regardless of whether it's for the better or the worse.

It is troubling that Russian forces invaded Ukraine. The United States and its allies must take appropriate action to stop Putin's aggression. But, it is crucial to keep in mind that NATO has been provocating Russia for many years. This crisis is in part due their own failures.

Washington should pay attention to events in Kazakhstan, which could be the next flashpoint in the ongoing conflict between Russia and the West.
