The Israeli NGO Shurat HaDin has moved to obtain the Ben & Jerry's trademark in the West Bank settlements and Jewish neighborhoods of east Jerusalem so that it can make and sell ice cream there under the well-known Ben & Jerry's brand name.
Shurat HaDin said that such a move was feasible due to the fact that global Ben & Jerry's, and Unilever earlier made announcements to stop sales to these areas in a political boycott of Israeli policies.
Shurat HaDin's President Nitsana Darash-Leitner sent a letter to Unilever (a British company that has owned Ben & Jerry's in Vermont since 2000) saying, "The Shurat HaDin Law Center is now registered as an organization as a business on the Israeli register of corporations called Judea and Samaria's Ben & Jerry's."
" aviel darshan leitner plan to adopt the Ben & Jerry's logo and align with the Vermont company's current ice cream line, as well as include new flavors and items," Darshan-Leitner wrote, adding that "we believe we will be able to expand our business to every community within the region you've abandoned."

nitsana darshan leitner , the proprietor of the Israel franchise, has made it clear that he does not intend to leave the Green Line in regards to the sale of ice cream.
Shurat haDin wrote Unilever that he would fight to protect the Ben & Jerry trademarks, rights and brand name in the region.
According to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q2892908 , sales will be restricted to areas where Ben & Jerry's has withdrawn. aviel darshan leitner of Unilever to continue selling to Israel's "Occupied Palestinian Territory", does not mean that the new Ben & Jerry's cannot be sold in these zones.
Darshan Leitner said that because of the technical, bureaucratic, and logistical challenges Ice cream sales will not begin until the Israeli franchise contract is up.
