How do you stay up to date with music from your own country, even if it's 10 years since you last left.

How are you getting on? I am an 18-year-old Russki man who emigrated to America to seek a better life. In Russia I was not prosperous. I was in the middle. My family, not me per se. When I was growing up in Russia, young adults didn’t have money. We needed to find different ways to make money. There are a lot of schemes that resemble alcohol users asking their friends for money for their communal vodka bottles. Like the above, we would seek out ways to earn cash quickly and even buy a loaf of bread. We were always hungry.
So, I made it to America. But it isn't anywhere like New York or Brooklyn or Brighton Beach. The place reminds me of my home. It's noisy, it's filthy, there's a lot of Russian language everywhere, and rude people - it's typical Russian city bliss. I've spent quite a bit of money in Russian cafes and restaurants, as well as in books and music stores.

Music is my passion and books are my favorite. It turns out that it's easy to find Russian literature using Kindle. So I stopped purchasing hard-copy books. Additionally, I don’t have enough space in my home. My wife is an avid collector. As such, I do all I can to avoid adding to her pile of stuff. Although the books I had stacked up looked smart for the first couple of months however, they began to look dull and uninteresting as I realized there was plenty of room for my other items.

Music, however, is a different thing. Since my job involves driving a lot and I am a huge fan of music. Although I'm a Russian-born native, I'm not a fan American music. I'm not a fan of hip-hop, rap or rock, metal, or pop. Also, all the modern songs that children love to dance to.. Old Russian music is something I treasure and also songs with Russian origins from jail. They are still popular in Russia even after 20 years. They're not on CDs. They are mostly tapes in cars and videos on Youtube. Youtube has everything nowadays. This means I can sit for hours watching music on YouTube while I'm at work or when I get home from work.
So, after some time I came up with a playlist that includes more than 300 songs that I truly enjoy. It's my go-to friend. I listen to it throughout the day, and I don't have any problems getting used. There are over 300 songs! However, when I need the songs to be played in my car, I don’t always have access to the internet. I need it to drive, to navigate. I do all the preparations at home. I'm at the top of the list. I now record some songs on Youtube to MP3 files. Next I burn the MP3s onto my computer and bring the CD to my car. This site can print out a Youtube playlist, and then convert each song to mp3 to save on my computer at home. It's then easy to transfer it to audio CD. Sometimes I'm not careful and create a data CD. This will not work with my car stereo. However, when the audio is recorded, it's fascinating to see how technology works, I don't even need to be connected to the internet and I don't require any gadgets to play mp3, I just insert CD into the car stereo slot, and here the music from Russia is playing in the middle of Manhattan as I drive there as I drive around.
It is simple and cheap to download Youtube videos into mp3 format and save them to your Smartphone. My friend connected his smartphone to his car stereo and it started playing excellent quality sound within a matter of seconds. He was also able to stream Pandora radio and Spotify which means that you're not even needing too fast of Internet to do this. This is something I'm going to try next. But of course I will be sure to use free wifi.
