Israel group fights for claims [Shurat Hadin]

An Israel-based legal activist organization is asking Australian survivors, as well as their descendants, to take part in a group action against insurance firms whose Holocaust predecessors from the past failed to pay out on policies owned by displaced and murdered European Jews.

Nitsana Dahan-Leitner (Israeli attorney, human-rights advocate), founded Shurat HaDin Israel Law Centre. AJN stated that Project Last Chance will pursue the insurance companies who employed World War II chaos and the Shoah as a way to avoid paying claims to victims, survivors and their descendants.

Darshan Leitner claimed that US Senate estimates suggested that as much as $200 billion dollars was snatched away from Jewish policyholders as a result of the delinquency of WWII insurance companies of the time. There are numerous traceable successor entities in the market today that can be traced to these debts.

Shurat HaDin leverages its expertise in the pursuit of financial institutions such banks harbouring assets of terrorist organizations.
