Five Men Who Are Great Girls Dads
A girls dad is a male who aspires to give his daughter the same privileges and rights as a boy. Whether he is a sports fan or not, a girl dad wants his daughter to grow up with the same opportunities and privileges as her male counterparts. Luckily, there are a number of options for dads with daughters. Here are five examples of great male roles models for daughters. You might be surprised to learn that many of these men are men!
Kobe Bryant

After a heartbreaking video clip aired on SportsCenter about Kobe Bryant as a "girls dad," the NBA player took to social media to express his gratitude and share his feelings. Fans poured in to share their experiences as girls dads, and athletes and famous celebrities jumped on the bandwagon. Kobe Bryant, a father of four girls, has become a popular figure on the basketball court and beyond.

Throughout his incredible career in the NBA, Kobe Bryant influenced players from all over the world. The NBA great died in a helicopter crash on Sunday, along with his daughter Gianna, and seven other people. One of his many memories is a moment in which he met sports anchor Elle Duncan backstage at an event in New York when she was eight months pregnant. She told Bryant about her pregnancy and he gave her a high-five.

Although he retired from professional basketball in 2016, Kobe Bryant remained involved in the community, coaching his daughter Gianna. This experience helped Gigi realize her dream of playing basketball for the University of Connecticut women's basketball team. Despite the tragedy, the couple still managed to bond over their daughters' love of basketball. Gigi's love of the sport helped Kobe Bryant come back to the game as a dad.
Larry Bird

Corrie Bird, the first daughter of legendary basketball player Larry Bird, has always struggled to build a close relationship with her father. Larry initially denied fatherhood to his daughter, despite Corrie's request to receive $40 a week in support. Eventually, Larry accepted and agreed to continue support for the young girl until she was sixteen years old. Corrie shares many traits with her famous father, which many people believe make her look like him.

The basketball great also has multiple half-siblings. His beloved half-sister, Mandy, is an accomplished singer. podcast sang at her wedding ceremony in 2008, and later organized a bridal shower for her at the same time. Corrie has two adopted half-siblings on her father's side, Mariah and Conner. Corrie's father is worth $75 million. If Corrie is anything like his ex-wife, she's going to be an amazing dad.

Corrie was born in 1974 and Larry Bird's first wife, Janet, was his mother. After Corrie was born, Larry and Janet separated. They briefly reunited to try and patch up their relationship. Corrie was born during this reconciliation period. The couple separated again in 1977. Janet's mother, Dinah Bird, encouraged her to return to college. However, the couple split again in 1978. Eventually, Larry and Janet divorced.
Larry Bird Jr.

The basketball legend's parents were blue-collar. He worked shoveling snow from his mom's driveway and developed a terrible mustache. He also grew up cutting grass and sporting a mullet. Despite his upbringing, Larry Bird remained committed to the sport, becoming a world-renowned star in the process. He is remembered for being one of the greatest clutch players in NBA history, a feat that helped him achieve his success.

At age 14, Bird was heartbroken over the suicide of his father. He decided to return to college and sign up at Indiana State University. Although he did not have much confidence in his academic abilities, he felt he could help the struggling Sycamores win games. Bird grew two inches over his previous height and now weighs two hundred and twenty pounds. He also played center for the Indiana Pacers' basketball team. He had already surpassed his father's height by a few inches.

In addition to a remarkable career, Larry Bird suffered from recurring injuries. In 1982, he suffered a broken zygomatic arch in his face. In 1989, he underwent surgery to remove bone spurs in his feet. In 1991, he suffered back pain. Despite the injuries, Bird returned to the Boston roster in 1990, and played the final half of the season in 1992. He retired from professional basketball after the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, but continued to work as a special assistant for the Celtics.
