What is a Turkish Bath Massage?
Turkish Bath Massage is an ancient form of hydrotherapy that originated in Turkey. The hammams were originally built by the holy men and priests to heal the body and purifying the skin. It was only later that this particular technique was brought to the attention of the world's westerners. Today, this form of hydrotherapy is extensively used.

Turkish Bath massage is based on the notion that the human body is essentially as a sponge that needs to be gently cleaned every now and then with water. In general it is said that a Hammam is similar to saunas however instead of sitting in the hot water, it is placed on a mattress under the steam, and then rolled onto the hammam. To warm the towel, it is folded across the Hammam.

The masseuse will first apply an oil of natural origin on the skin. It will be slightly warm but not hot enough to actually burn the skin. The massage therapist then massages the oil into the patient's skin and moves it around the body in circular motions. This circular motion helps exfoliate the skin , and opens the pores. The majority of Hammams make use of a mixture of lavender and olive oil and lemon juice, as well as rosewater, and lemon juice.

Next you can use cool water to rinse away any dirt or oil. This would reduce swelling under the Hammam. A couple of towels are used, and then the bath is started by placing the patient in the center of the hammam. Then oil pouches are inserted beneath the bottom of the hammer , and then it is covered with a towel. Then the massage therapist starts the journey by laying his or her hands in the pouches before beginning the gentle stretching exercises that loosen the muscles of the surrounding area.

It is vital that the patient is comfortable during this part of bathing. If he or she is not relaxed then problems can develop, including tension, twitching, or even falling asleep. The massage therapist does not want this to happen. The ideal time to begin the bath is to immerse the body in warm water for around 15 minutes. Then make sure that all the pouches are filled and place them in the Hammam.

The massage therapist will then begin to massage the affected area using the Hammam. This is initially gentle and should only last for a few seconds. When the person is satisfied that he or she has had enough oil, the towel is taken off. The therapist then rolls the person into the tub and then covers their head with the towel.

The massage is over. The patient must wash their hair with cold water and apply an oil for massage that is good. The patient should not be distracted by the discomfort or numbness. The Hammam can aid with a gentle massage. The Hammam could then be used to give a light massage.

The patient should allow 10 minutes to relax after the massage. You can do this without pillows or other obstructions. The patient should eat a healthy snack as excess fat could cause the pain to become worse. He or she can drink a glass of water, but the soda should not be consumed as it can dehydrate your body. The patient should then take a cold shower before proceeding to the next step of bathing.
