What exactly is Acupuncture and Tui Na?
The term "Tui Na" or Thai acupuncture, is a mixture of three healing arts - Chinese acupuncture and massage. Tui Na is usually used in conjunction with a different traditional medicine discipline such as Moxabustion, Chinese Qigong, or Massage Therapy. This type of treatment is a powerful complementary therapy. It can have numerous healing effects and deal with the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of patients with chronic and acute illness as well as patients experiencing life transitions or ageing. In fact, it has been used throughout the West for many years and has been extensively researched and documented.

Acupuncture: Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese therapeutic system which originated in China. Acupuncturists work on the skin's top layer which is known as the acupoints, stimulating them and release endorphins (which are opiates that are natural), ions and neurotransmitters. It is not clear what stimulation or how Tui Na massage works. Tui Na has also been used in alternative medicine practices. Tui Na is usually used in combination with other traditional treatments, for example, those that focus on Qi stagnation, pain, fatigue, Qi deficiency and toxins.

Tui Na and Chinese Traditional Chinese Medicine. Both Chinese Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tui Na are based on traditional Chinese medicine. They also have a strong foundation in Chinese traditional Chinese medicine. Both massage therapy and acupuncture utilize special devices that deliver the mechanical pressure which results in pressure being placed on specific areas of the body. Tui Na, a powerful alternative therapy, can help with numerous ailments, such as chronic back pain, migraines and tension.

Tui Na and Chinese Traditional Chinese Medicine Tui Na and Chinese Traditional Chinese Medicine not clear what the connection is between Tui Na and traditional Chinese medicine. In certain instances, Tui Na is used alongside traditional Chinese medicine to treat certain health conditions. One example is the energy healing techniques and qi gong utilized by Chinese martial artists. However, there is a significant disagreement over whether Tui Na is a successful treatment for high blood pressure and cholesterol levels as well as ulcers, allergies, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tui Na - Many people aren't aware of the meaning of "traditional Chinese medicine" (TCM) means. The term refers the range of treatments employed by the ancient Chinese. These treatments typically involve Acupuncture, herbal medicine massage, nutrition and qi gong. These treatments have been around for centuries. Modern TCM methods can be used in conjunction with other treatment methods. Certain TCM doctors use both the acupuncture method and Tui Na to treat of back pain, as well as other conditions.

Acupuncture and Tui Na: For most Westerners, they have heard of acupuncture and the therapy. Some people don't know the meaning behind these terms. Acupuncture refers to a form of Chinese medicine that involves the application of needles to stimulate specific areas of the body. Tui Na is the Chinese term used to describe the traditional Chinese treatment of various conditions using acupuncture.

Acupuncture, Tui Na Therapy: Traditional Chinese medicine believes that meridians are present in the body's skin. They are believed to connect different organs together. These meridians can be stimulated to boost the flow of qi, or life force throughout the body. Traditional Chinese medicine holds that Qi and Blood are the most important elements of the universe. Certain instances of acupuncture and Tui Na are the treatments which restore blood flow as well as Qi to the body.

While there isn't any scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of acupuncture and Tui Na, patients who have undergone these treatments have reported improvement in their health conditions. This could be due the fact that these treatment modalities target the same areas of the body that are located along meridians. The reason for this is not clear however, it appears to be something that occurs in the practice of traditional Chinese medicine.
