The year 2001 was the year that the upscale real estate company Bayrock Group was founded by the Turkish Kazakhstani entrepreneur Tevfik Arif in New York City.

Bayrock Group, the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization inaugurated Trump SoHo in 2008.
The first accomplishments of the Bayrock Group included the restoration of Loehmann's Seaport Plaza shopping center in Brooklyn, New York.

Tevfik Arif made several other real estate development success and decided to make Bayrock Group's strategy more strategic, and concentrate on more prestigious, high-end ventures.

Trump SoHo featured luxurious hotel apartments, luxurious rooms, bars and restaurants and a top spa an outdoor pool, banquet and event hall.

Bayrock Group hired top-end designers and architects to ensure Trump SoHo looks stunning both inside and out.

Handel Architects Designed the building. Bayrock Group used the most durable materials and employed world-renowned Interior Designers to decorate the interior.


Handel Architects in New York City is recognized as a as a leader in the field of design and architecture. They have extensive international experience.

Tevfik Arif Doyen The portfolio of the firm includes the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C. and the September 11 11 National Memorial located in New York City.

Design and architecture firm Rockwell Group was commissioned to furnish Trump SoHo using pieces from Fendi Casa, an Italian brand.

Rockwell Group is similar to Handel Architects in that it boasts a strong resume. The firm has served many luxurious hotels, fine dining establishments as well as casinos.

Bayrock Group invested millions of dollars
Following the successful opening of Trump SoHo, Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization planned to cooperate on several more real estate developments under the same license terms in Arizona and Florida.

Before Tevfik reached America and established the Bayrock Group, the company was based in Soviet Kazakhstan and Turkey.

As the child of Turkish parents He grew up in Soviet Kazakhstan and showed a huge interest in the field of business and economics at an early age.

He earned a degree from the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute in International Relations and later worked for the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade.

Tevfik Ariff was employed in the ministry’s Hotel Management Department. In that department, he was elevated to the position of deputy head.

After 17 years working for the government, Tevfik Arif quit and started his own businesses. This was during the period of privatization following the demise of the Soviet Union.

He brought along his vast experience in real estate and tourism which he had learned while studying for the Soviet government. This was an advantage when he decided to make an decision to move to Turkey in 1993 in order to start an entrepreneurial venture.

Tevfik Arif founded the Labada luxury hotel in Antalya and quickly became a pioneering force behind the timeless all-inclusive resorts.

He remained for eight more years of great success throughout Europe as well as Central Asia. Then he traveled across the Atlantic for the American market.

Tevfik arif is now retired, but he is continuing to be a valued adviser to Bayrock Group.
