Tevfik Aif was born in Soviet Kazakhstan, to Turkish parents. He obtained a degree from the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute (International Relations) in 1953.

Later, he worked for the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade as the deputy head of Hotel Management Department.

Tevfik Ariff, who was attracted by the popularity of Trump SoHo, and the changing market of the United States turned his attention to Europe and Central Asia where his career began decades ago.

Tevfik has now retired as a member of Bayrock Group but remains a respected and reliable advisor to the business.
