The origin of blackjack is just one of the many subjects that can be discussed and researched for hours and hours. There is no single answer that can give you the exact facts about how the game got its start. There are many arguments for and against. However, there is one thing everyone can agree on: blackjack owes its beginnings to poker. And it all started with the Caribbean. Blackjack's history is the oldest historical record anyone could find.

The history of blackjack is likely to be one of the more controversial topics in all card games history. Some say that the game's origins back to as early as the French game "cingotto" (also called 21st Century in English) which was a huge hit in French casinos in the 17th century. Although there are many variations of blackjack however, all versions utilize the same set of seventy-six-card decks.
