All About Fan Tan
Fan Tan Fan Tan, also known as fancan is an ancient Chinese gambling game played in China. This simple game of luck has some similarities to blackjack. The game first came into existence in the Fujian Province (now known as Province Fujian in Mandarin) where it was most likely first played. Today the game is played between Chinese people and some sort of "fancier" crowd at a tropical resort, typically in Asia. A fun fact is that the word Fan is "Luck" in Mandarin.

The game is simple to learn and doesn't require any expertise. It's easy to mistakenly assume that a Fan Tan card game is just another of the many card games featuring 52 cards. To be fair, you might want to add one to your standard deck. It's not uncommon and could provide greater variety and excitement. For all we know, playing an unintentional game with no Fan Tan is similar to playing Texas Hold'em without a Texas Hold'em chips and poker chips.

A thing to remember about this game of cards is it is that it can be explained with the help of the blackjack rules. The main round of betting involves players purchasing cards (called flops) and then placing bets against one another. When a player lands on an empty spot, they have successfully ended their previous bet. Thus, that player now has one additional card to flip and complete their current deck. Anyone with an amount of Fan Tan equal to the number of cards turned over must call. The Fan Tan thinks of this as to be a "level" game of cards in which the winning sequence will always be identical.

While the majority of Fan Tan games can be played in pairs, there is a variation that can be played using traditional sevens. This is referred to as the "cardgame of the kings". Fan Tan, unlike the sevens, is played using straight flushes. This version aims to make the perfect pair through forming two pairs of ones with three opponents. The pot is won by the Fan Tan player with the highest hand. In most cases, the Fan Tan is played with the standard deck. However, some decks are specifically designed to play this game, making them slightly more expensive than standard decks.

Like many standard 52-card decks, the standard Fan Tan includes jokers. There are two kinds of jokers in this version of the game, dependent on the denomination in which they are used. People who use standard decks can't have the royal or VIP jokers. If you're seeking a specific kind of joker, you may think about purchasing one. In most cases, Royal jokers are sold as part of separate sets of cards. These packs contain many types of jokers however they are not custom-designed. The jokers are the standard size and are black with red writing. But, certain companies are able to cut jokers to meet your needs.

Only players who have the package that contains the "VIP" joker may use it. There are a variety of jokers, based on their use. The "leveler" joker can be employed to stop the sequence and it is worth three points if the winning hands are made of it. The "special card" joker can only be played by players who previously won a specified amount of game-playing tickets. The VIP joker is awarded to the winner, instead of the regular leveler or the special card. They all are worth three points, and packs may include as many as nine.

There are numerous variants of Fan Tan, depending on whether you are playing the Texas Hold'em or regular versions. When you play the standard version, you're given a hand and you are able to take one card from the discard pile (called the flop). If you believe the card contains a premium legal card, you can make a call (raise). Then, you'll make three transactions (push) into the pot in order to take it from the players turn in accordance with the rules set out on the Texas Hold 'em website. However, in the "Texas Hold 'em" version, there is an additional rule that can be used. After the third payment you can legally play two more cards from the flop. This is called the "rain" or "flop".

If you are playing in the standard version of the game, and you're unable to get any cards from the discard pile you may not legally "draw" any of the cards drawn from the draw that is shared by all players. Everyone is legally bound to fold, regardless of their positions at the table. The "Texas Holdem" version requires players to declare that they are unable to play cards. The other players must then contribute to their "rain" or "flop" regardless of whether they are at the same table position. The first player to pay (lowest total) wins. This can make for some fun games!
