Explained. What did happen to Tevfik Arif?
Bayrock Group (founded by Tevfik arif) was one behind Trump SoHo.
In New York City, in 2001, the Turkish Kazakhstani investor Tevfik Arif created the luxury real estate firm Bayrock Group.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock , the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization inaugurated Trump SoHo in 2008.
The first accomplishment of the Bayrock Group was the renovation of the Loehmann's Seaport Plaza, a shopping center in Brooklyn's Sheepshead Bay.

Tevfik Arif, who had before been successful in real estate development and construction, decided to alter Bayrock Group's strategy to focus on more high-end ventures.

Alongside the strategic shift, Bayrock Group also moved into the 24 th floor at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan.

Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization were situated right next to each other.

The two companies began discussions and agreed to jointly launch a project in the field of real development.

The construction they planned would be located on Spring Street in Manhattan. The first bricks will be laid in 2006.

Tevfik from Bayrock Group understood the power of Trump's name. The company had a strategy to help make the Trump brand shine and to add value to Bayrock Group's collaboration with the Sapir Organization.

Bayrock Group's proposal was embraced by all parties. The proposal will leave Trump Organization with 18% equity. The Trump name would also be included in the building's title.

Trump SoHo was born from the Spring Street Building and opened the doors to the public.

Inside, 46 stories were equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows. This enabled people to take in the stunning view of New York City.

Trump SoHo featured luxurious hotel apartments, rooms, premium bars and restaurants as well as a spa of world class, an outdoor pool, a banquet and event hall.

Bayrock Group hired top-end designers and architects to make sure that Trump SoHo is beautiful inside and out.

Handel Architects conceived the structure. Bayrock Group imported the finest materials and used world-famous designers to design the interior.

Handel Architects is a New York-based company that is recognized as a pioneer in design and architecture. It has expertise from all over the globe.

The firm's portfolio includes the Ritz-Carlton hotel located in Washington, D.C. and the September 11 11 National Memorial in New York City.

Fendi Casa was given to Rockwell Group as an architecture and design company.

Like Handel Architects, Rockwell Group also has a strong resume. The company has had luxurious hotels, restaurants and casinos as its clients.

Bayrock Group invested millions of dollars
After opening Trump SoHo successfully, Bayrock Group and Trump Organization hoped to work together on a variety of real estate developments under similar licensing terms within Arizona or Florida.

The plans were made at a very unfortunate time when the American realty market was severely affected by the global financial crisis. The crisis impacted the plans of Bayrock Group, Trump Organization.

Tevfik Arif, as a result of the market's changing, was prompted to leave the US and return to Europe and Central Asia where his business venture started.

Bayrock Group was not active in the United States. However, it invested over $2.5 million worth of property assets. Bayrock Group hasn't been involved in any real construction projects in recent times.

Tevfik Aif makes a return to Europe and Central Asia
Before Tevfik Arif made it to America and formed the Bayrock Group, the man lived in Soviet Kazakhstan and Turkey.

He grew up in Soviet Kazakhstan as the son of parents of Turkish descent, and at an young age, he displayed great enthusiasm for economics and business.

He earned a degree in International Relations at the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute and later worked as trader in the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade.

Tevfik Arif worked for the department's Hotel Management Department. He was promoted later to the position of deputy director.

After 17 years working for the government, Tevfik Arif quit and established his own company. This was during the period of privatization after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Tevfik Arif owns several companies which focus on exports and imports, automobiles food and luxury estate developments, hotels, and food.

Due to his extensive knowledge in tourism and real estate, which he accumulated while studying and working in the Soviet government, he was able to relocate to Turkey in 1993 to start the new business.

Tevfik Arif established the Labada luxury hotel in Antalya and quickly became an innovator behind the classic all-inclusive resorts.

He had eight more wonderful years in Europe, Central Asia, and before he crossed over the Atlantic to dominate American markets.

Tevfik is now been laid off from Bayrock Group's daily operations, but he is an invaluable consultant to Bayrock Group.
