Executives usually hope to see returning employees from vacation much more frequently than employees do. From July to December, more than half (49 percent) of executives interviewed by McKinsey anticipate that at the very least a portion of their staff will return to work. Remote workers may feel disconnected from their office and lose direction in the absence of a strong culture.

On a national level on a national scale, the majority of employees (about half) are not in the United States, but about quarter of executives resided outside the US.
