Texas Holdem Tournament Strategy
The third mistakes players often make is they don't have any sort of betting strategy. Do you know how much you plan to bet in what positions and with what cards? Do you have a plan on how much you are going to bet regarding your stack size and your opponents stack sizes?

As with everything in poker, observe the betting habits of your opponents. Within a game, if a player starts betting high and then starts checking or betting Less aggressively, the band he was hoping for might not have materialized.

One note of caution however. If and when people do call your "opener" raise you can put them on a long suit hand. Or at least you'll know ipso facto they are an aggressive player and you need to proceed with caution.

Eventually I realized there was something seriously wrong and that I needed to update my c-betting strategy. It sounded like an impossible task at first because I was so entrenched in my multi-tabling, auto-pilot continuation betting routine.

If you have just started to play poker or if winning is what you always want to do, then make sure you pick easy opponents to bet. This may sound like a very obvious way but it is a fact that some players know how to win better than others because of their experience or sheer good luck although the latter is of secondary importance. Also, if you are having a bad time, decrease the size of bet or simply walk away and leave it for another day.

If there is more than 1 opponent in the pot and I'm in early position, I don't c-bet unless I have a hand. This rule sounds predictable but it rarely causes a problem. If click here played against the same group of people on a regular basis, I would mix it up occasionally. But for the average poker player, this is just fine.
