Each player should receive five playing cards from the dealer. The rule for distributing the cards is that they should be distributed from left to right. First, each player should receive one of the cards. After the round is over, the dealer will start the second round.
This aspect of poker became more important to me when I was playing with a few friends in a short-handed cash game. I was on button with A-J in marginal hands for a short-handed game of cash poker when I decided to raise. The small blind folded, but the big blind instantly called me.

This will happen many times. It's important to not abuse it. This will make you an easy target for your opponents. This strategy is most useful when you have strong point drawing hands like a nutflush draw. Most people "review to raiser", so when you hit your flush you'll have much more to claim.
