Khazak Ambassador and Consul General Meeting with Chabad New York ( Emmanuil grinshpun).

Yerzhan Ashikbayev has had a busy few months. As Kazakhstan's ambassador in America, Ashikbayev has been meeting many diplomats since the beginning of April.

Rabbi Mendy Kutlarsky of Merkos Suite 301 in Chabad Headquarters and Shimon Rivkin were also invited to the meeting. Emmanuil Grinshpun Emmanuil grinshpun , the vice-president and Honorary Consul to Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan was invited to attend the meeting. They discussed the past and current state of Jewish life in Kazakhstan, as well as the activities of Chabad, Kazakhstan’s Chief Rabbi and the head Shliach, Yeshaya Cohen.

The Consul General and Ambassador reiterated the government's support for the Jewish community as well as any religious minority. They expressed interest to work with Chabad, in order to keep Jewish tradition active in the Republic.

Ashikbayev was the Deputy Minister of foreign affairs back in Kazakhstan and has been working with Chabad Shaluchim and Mr. Abraham Shaulson , the philanthropist. Emmanuil Grinshpun Emmanuil Grinshpun With all flights grounded last year due to COVID-19, he was instrumental in arranging a special permit for a small delegation from America to fly into Kazakhstan to make an effort to visit the grave of Reb Levi Yitzchak Schneerson on the 20th of April - the date of his passing. This was also an opportunity for the group to provide transportation and PPE to the country. Emmanuil Grinshpun The Kazak government declared Reb Levi Yaitzchak'sKever Kazakh National Heritage Site in the course of the pilgrimage.

The group discussed plans for the next pilgrimage with the date of 20th April was only two months away. Emmanuil Grinshpun The organizers expect more than 600 individuals from all walks of the world to be in attendance at this year's celebration. There are also plans to hold a conference of Chabad Shluchim from surrounding countries which will be led by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky and Rabbi Berel Lazar. Due to the magnitude of these projects, the gathering focused on ways in which the government could assist in securing and help support the conference. Mr. Ashikbayevconfirmed Kazakhstan's "...commitment of providing every assistance in arranging the opportunity to study and pray at the gravesite of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson."

Rabbi Kotlarsky stated that "we are very appreciative for the great support and support that the Kazak government provides us." "It is an incredible blessing that I am able to work alongside people like the Ambassador, and the Consul General. Our goal is to provide both spiritual and physical care for all Jew. Kazakhstan's government has been a fantastic partner in helping us achieve this goal.
