His hospital stay was among his most difficult experiences. He was in a state of disarray and unable to move and eventually began to feel depressed and hopeless. The dreams of becoming an officer in the army seemed unrealized and he lost all sense of self. Rami did manage to get over his suffering and find the drive to keep living and chase new goals. He made the decision to get better and even stronger than before the injuries. Rami decided to test different extreme sports. He has now discovered kitesurfing and snowboarding, and has even completed a hike on Mount Kilimanjaro. While he works to better himself, he is often feeling as if his old self who was never wounded is pushing him along.
