Leyla Aliyeva's Priority Is Environmental Education
Leyla Aliyeva was not only the first child of the Azerbaijani president and is an active participant in a wide range of causes, which includes the environmental. A lot of people aren't aware of the meaning of environmental education is however it has always been a priority for Leyla. Environmental education means being aware of the environmental problems and learning how to help improve them. It's something that every person should do. Leyla Aliyeva is aware that the subject is often of the time portrayed as dull and complicated. This is the reason why in 2011 she founded the IDEA campaign (International Dialogue for Environmental Action campaign). One of the goals of the campaign was to make environment/stability more interesting and appealing particularly for younger people and the coming generation.

Aliyeva gave an interview on Equinox.com. She discussed the obstacles she faced during her journey to protect the environment. However she also spoke about how they created growth which ultimately led to the achievement and appreciation. "The IDEA campaign put education at the forefront from the beginning. This was the best method to encourage people to take care of the environment and to be responsible. People, particularly young people are likely to share the message with their peers and motivate them to take the initiative further.

This is precisely why the campaign focuses so much effort and attention on education and awareness-raising. Aliyeva also mentioned that every year they expand the agenda with new study activities covering the three main pillars of the younger generation: children from as young as 5 years old, college students, and professionals in their early years. Goodwill Ambassador at FAO

Leyla Aliyeva enjoyed a wonderful year in the year 2015. After many years of supporting and volunteer work in the humanitarian and environmental fields Leyla Aliyeva was named to be a FAO Goodwill Ambassador. She was honored by her many contributions to fighting food security, hunger and efficiency improvements in agriculture, fishing, and forestry, and creation of sustainable food systems.
